I've used HR block and Jackson-hewitt for the past few years, tried turbo tax ages ago
they all work fine depending on price
I find HR to have a nicer layout and it's easier to navigate

last few years I do my mom and brother taxes with HR, download a PDF copy if needed in the future

price for simple taxes is generally free for the 1040 and like 30 bucks if you have dividends

I actually run it through both HR and JH and I've found HR usually gets you back more money somehow

your opinion?

My taxes are fairly complex, I use a private tax attorney.

HR for around 100 bucks online can handle complex, easy to follow and you get actual support with that price if you have a questions

years ago my mom went to a HR store, they charged her like 300 bucks and the refund was much lower than it should be, it barely covered the cost

300 buck for a hour and I do them for free in 30 minutes and get the max return

I use H&R Block Premium & Business. Some of the more complicated LLC taxes are done by a CPA and then it is just a matter of getting all of it into our final personal returns

Mine are too. I hope they will get simpler in retirement.
oh they will, you will just get a 1099-R and most pensions and SS are not taxed at the state level and after deductions usually not much at the federal level either, super easy to do taxes, about 30 minutes
