Swalwell demands 2028 Dem candidates vow to destroy Trump's White House ballroom project

Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., said the next Democratic presidential nominee must vow to demolish President Donald Trump's White House ballroom, proposing the pledge a litmus test for the party’s 2028 contenders.

"Don’t even think of seeking the Democratic nomination for president unless you pledge to take a wrecking ball to the Trump Ballroom on DAY ONE," Swalwell wrote on X on Saturday.

Swalwell's office did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital for additional comment.

Destroying what others have built is a favorite activity of the left....Just like the Taliban.

LOL....If Trump released a cure for lung cancer, dems would ban it and start chain smoking just out of spite, and the MSM would start running segments on how smoking is good for you. ;)

Democrats are now completely beholden to nothing but their base emotions. Rage, fear, hate, envy, etc.

It's a very sick party infected by very sick people.
This isn't your parents' Democrat Party. This ain't Hubert Humphrey or even George McGovern.
It's a radical Leftist/Communist/Totalitarian party that literally wants to destroy America. They shouldn't be anywhere close to the levers of power. Never again until they reform radically.

Well said.

I agree with the chairman of the political party to which I belong in describing the Democrats and Republicans:

“It’s like your house is burning down, right? You’re inside your house, it’s on fire and out on the street are these two people whose job it is to save you. And instead of them coming in and saving you, they’re standing out on the curb arguing about who lit the match.”

There were 52 Republican votes to put out the fire and 43 Democrat votes against
putting out the fire.

/----/ We already know it was the democRATs who lit the match.

To low human capital, it would seem like a reasonable request. To mature adults, wasting millions in taxpayer dollars to tear down a brand new building out of spite is exactly what it looks like, childish and irresponsible, but unfortunately, that's most of you out there today isn't it.

We are probably stuck with this Mussolini like structure, unfortunately.

My guess is, it won't be anywhere near complete when Trump leaves and the Taxpayers are going to be on the hook to finish it.

tRue enough. If you're gonna lose your mind over a logo change your head should have just flat detonated over the White House desecration.

Unless you are a massive hypocrite, of course.
Ask Newsom after his remarks and the current California Governor's mansion and area around its massive, corrupted renovation projects.

We're talking about Democrats here, not tRumplings. They will put the east wing back.
Let's see if we have this correct:

1. Private concerns footing the bill for an enhancement to the White House = double plus ungood.
2. Taxpayers (democrats don't spend their own money) footing the bill to demolish the enhancement and build a new one = teh goodness.

Do we have that correct?

/----/ Folks, be sure to bookmark JoeB's post for when the ballroom is finished on time and at budget.
