Supreme Court limits key provision of the landmark Voting Rights Act

How is this even legal when Democrats claimed they do not discriminate?

The Supreme Court on Wednesday sharply weakened a key provision of the landmark Voting Rights Act, a ruling that limits the consideration of race in drawing voting maps and could usher in Republican gains in the House.

The decision is expected to touch off a scramble by Republicans to redraw majority-minority districts, especially in the South. New districts could shift the balance of power in Congress by imperiling the reelection prospects of some Black Democrats, possibly as soon as November’s midterms in some instances. Minority representatives in state legislatures and local offices could also be redistricted out.

About darn time.....The odd districts in red states that were gerrymandered due to fed "racial" edicts can now be brought back in line.

I wonder how many seats this will cost the dems?
You think it will cost the dems?

The Roberts Court will be known for giving away rights that Americans fought for generations
And will be the impetus for the court becoming expanded.

And then there's this to consider,

Strip The Radical Right Trump court of it's appellate jurisdiction. This is legal under Article III of the Constitution:

In all Cases affecting Ambassadors, other public Ministers and Consuls, and those in which a State shall be Party, the supreme Court shall have original Jurisdiction. In all the other Cases before mentioned, the supreme Court shall have appellate Jurisdiction, both as to Law and Fact, with such Exceptions, and under such Regulations as the Congress shall make.

You are trying to transform American into a white racist state. We won't let that happen.
It is not about racism. It is about assimilation. Those who assimilate and follow that path have a better chance of a good life with comforts. You wither do it or you do not. We see the corruption and stealing that is rampant in social agendas now. And it is far worse than what we have found up to now.

How is banning racial gerrymandering racist? I wish Democrats would go even further and call for splitting the country.

So "assimilation" is code word for cultural racism. No, they will not be imitative of you. Not going to happen.

Why do we the people stand for our state politicians to select their own voters?... are we insane?...
What kind of stewards of our nation are we?....

The SC should just rule against gerrymandering. Democrats claimed that without gerrymandering, minority votes have no weight even though the government can’t tell people where they can or cannot live. Second, people like to be among their kind or those sharing the same values. The Democrats’ argument is no different than separating the country. How can Democrats say they are for diversity but at the same time believe blacks should have a representative representing a district with nearly all blacks.

The dems use it to gain an advantage... not make things fair for minorities....

Would have if Texas hadnt cheated

Texas cheated? What law did they break? Better still and more important: what did Texas do that Dem states hadn't already done worse many times?

And by complaining what Texas did was wrong, can I then take your sworn word that no blue state will ever do the same thing?

If Dems did anything/so-much to make things fair for minorities then why is so much still not fair to minorities? And isn't that what being a minority means? Because otherwise, you are in the mainstream.

CA Democrats have a history of gerrymandering. The Governator ended the practice but Democrats restarted the practice after he was out of office. This is why we didn't hear anything from Newsom. At least he knows when to STFU.

I am sure the GOP acted similarly elsewhere.

Well, the era of the Republic lasted more than 250 years, a good run.

We are head into the One Party Majority State era.
That was certainly the demofascists goal. This will slow their attack on the COTUS down a bit.

Trump and Texas started this mess.

The numbers are adding up, though, against the GOP.

November is coming.
