This law may have been passed with good intentions originally but the damage it is has caused probably cannot even be measured. Glad it's in our rearview mirror now.

The ruling deals a fatal blow to the idea that districting must be subject to racial review.

Some states were forced to include large swaths of urban areas into otherwise rural districts simply to appease the gods of racial pandering. That has been wiped away.
