(Reuters) - The U.S. Supreme Court blocked on Tuesday a judge's order for President Donald Trump's administration to rehire thousands of fired employees, acting in a dispute over his effort to slash the federal workforce and dismantle parts of the government.
The court put on hold San Francisco-based U.S. Judge William Alsup's March 13 injunction requiring six federal agencies to reinstate thousands of recently hired probationary employees while litigation challenging the legality of the dismissals continues.

The court in a brief, unsigned order said the nine non-profit organizations who were granted an injunction in response to their lawsuit lacked the legal standing to sue. The court said that its order did not address claims by other plaintiffs.

I hate people lost their jobs, but any decent minded person knows our fed employee register is extremely bloated. As far as legality, how does a President not have authority to fire people, and/or the heads of those agencies cant fire people? That doesnt make sense to me.

If they're good employees they'll hired elsewhere, even for the Federal govt. Left is never right anyway. It makes no sense to support negative results, but our govt. has done just that for ages.

I worked State Govt. for a time, the waste is worse than the public know. Fed. is no different. Say, on topic, my friend pays a gal to walk her dogs everyday at noon, for 30 minutes. A federal govt. employee does this "during her lunch hour".

Somehow I'm reminded of a scumbag. who used govt. time to handle personal affairs of many hours, and charged the benefactors for the effort. Same guy was using covid to work one place, while he was being paid to work from home.

Govt. abuse is plentiful, and by experience, 1 man hour private is 100 hours public, only the public sector will fuck it up, and then hire contractors to "fix" it. True MFing story. Then add cost of retirement, benefits, and 48 paid days off a year. All for what?
