No, no one protested. But, as I said, this was 1966. The main vaccine was the polio vaccine. The people putting kids in school remembered the devastation polio wrought on our young.

I just left Germany a few days ago. Great country, great people.

One thing that one cannot avoid being impressed by is that the German People will do what ever they need to do, regardless of how difficult. Whether it is rebuilding a city that makes no economic sense, or valuing worthless East German marks the same as real money, or closing down perfectly good nuclear power plants, if it is necessary to be done, the Germans will do it, and largely without complaining.

I cannot fathom why we (in the U.S.) are not mobilizing to frack our figurative asses off and sell LNG to Germany at a price that fucks Putin's brains out. I realize that some big facilities and vessels would have to be constructed, but this is so logical and so necessary that, as I say, I cannot fathom why we are not doing it. We have enough natural gas for the next five hundred years.

I had no idea what I was getting into when I zeroed the field of sociology for my major. What I figured was a simple field of study no one could fail in, turned out to be the biggest eye opener I have ever encountered!

Communalism was mankind's first religion after their fall from grace. Strength in number for the masses under lockstep command of all powerful leaders(gods?) proved irresistible to fallen humanity long ago & still does today. What you are witnessing today with mankind & their idolatry of themselves(narcissism) had to happen. Like ANY game there has to be BOTH winners & losers, not even mankind's Maker possesses the capability to change that fact. There are those who did not get the vaccine due to religious beliefs or medical issues. Should someone be able to give them polio just because they want to act like an idiot?

But, if I recall, there were those who did not take the vaccine. They weren't forced to take it. But they could not enroll in public schools.
