I am totally shocked than no warmist/alarmist drip posted on this subject based on a "peer reviewed" paper therefore I posted it for you to see if you are that stupid to swallow the bilge, they serve you.

Study finds Western megadrought is the worst in 1,200 years

February 14, 2022

Nathan Rott

Excerpt:

Shrunk reservoirs. Depleted aquifers. Low rivers. Raging wildfires. It's no secret that the Western U.S. is in a severe drought. New research published Monday shows just how extreme the situation has become.

The Western U.S. and northern Mexico are experiencing their driest period in at least 1,200 years, according to the new study, published in the journal Nature Climate Change. The last comparable — though not as severe — multidecade megadrought occurred in the 1500s, when the West was still largely inhabited by Native American tribes.

Can anyone spot the fatal weakness of the paper?

I been following this for a couple years now. I will link this thread, into that thread. I like to bump it every couple months. The goal? To have it be the first thread to come out of the conspiracy sub-forum ever on this forum. :heehee:

‘Authoritarianism’ May Be Necessary to Fight Climate Change, Cambridge Study Argues

There are many genuine threats facing humanity. None of them require authoritarianism or the infringement of civil liberties.

Williams, the study author, said roughly one-fifth of the current megadrought can be attributed to human-caused climate change. Greenhouse gas emissions are warming the world, speeding evaporation and disrupting weather patterns.

He has no way of knowing that.
All they have to do is put it in print! The lambs eat it up

Claims an emerging "megadrought"

What does the NOAA say about the last five years Precipitation, for the West Climate Region?

2015-2020

Since 2001-2020

Increase precipitation of the last "nearly 20 years", which means they LIED, since they called it a nearly 20 year drought, in that garbage paper.

Really, they forgot to look up the data then and they still ignore the data now with their new junk paper that means they are bad researchers.

Here is another post from 2 years ago:

Megadroughts used to be common, but not anymore, what we have been getting in recent decades are short term droughts, between wet periods.

However, Mittiga’s [study author] own description speaks for itself. He says that COVID-19 clearly resulted in “severe restrictions on rights of free movement, association, religious practice, and even speech,” all of which “are authoritarian in nature, though, I would argue, they have often been nonetheless legitimate.”

I would argue they weren't. Look at Sweden.

Mittiga then explains that governments that failed to take authoritarian steps to mitigate the threat of COVID are perceived as “less legitimate. (Think here of the Trump or Bolsonaro governments.)”

“I believe the same is true with respect to climate change,” Mittiga explains. “Those governments which are able but unwilling to confront the climate crisis -- which poses one of the greatest threats to safety and security we have ever faced -- are, for that reason, less legitimate.”

Bullshit. It has never been proved that climate change is ANY kind of threat to our safety and security, let alone the greatest threat.

Whatever nuances Wuttke may have missed in Mittiga’s study, it’s clear that Mittiga is in fact arguing that “legitimate” governments should shun democratic principles and civil liberties and embrace authoritarianism to confront challenges such as climate change.

The Lesson of Crises

Say what you will about Mittiga’s proposal—which is myopic and dangerous—his logic is sound. If “legitimate” governments embrace authoritarian measures to combat a deadly pandemic that poses a genuine threat to humans, why should they not embrace authoritarian measures to combat climate change, which many argue poses an even greater threat?

There’s a popular meme among libertarians: “If you allow politicians to break the law during emergencies, they will create an emergency to break the law.”

True. Once you can declare a national emergency based on a bunch of truckers protesting something, then politicians can declare any opposition to their policies to be an emergency and as a result our freedoms are GONE.

The fatal weakness has to be how rainy it has been and cold enough to snow,

Look in the paper where the math nonsense they used is made up dishonestly.

Will soon post the counter article that destroys the "megabullshit" paper soon.

They don't even want to try to manage the water resources anymore. Why? :dunno:

It is like they want to create a crisis. . .

Of course he doesn't. He says that for money.

So far warmist/alarmists have stayed away from this boondoggle of a paper that is so STUPID!

When Wapo and NPR have orgasms over this junk paper you know it is really bad.

I challenge the article. Does anyone remember the worldwide drought in the early 1980s? Not just the western states but the globe including here in Florida. Southend of the St. Johns river was dried up to a trickled with fish trying to survive in mudholes.
We had a large dust storm come from northern Africa and blanketed the state with dust.

Nasty NA$A

But they got the conclusion that makes them feel morally and intellectually superior. That counts for something. In fact, for them it counts for everything.

They are also counting the funding they will get for making it look like we better find a way to get a better planet to live on.

Goofball Geniuses Whose Two-Word Vocabulary Is "Wow! Cool!"

If we had real futurist scientists instead of childish Trekkie nerds, they could find ways of sending the summer melt from the Far North down into the drought-prone areas. Also, to find deeper aquifers, which are abundant everywhere, even under deserts.
