Math is so rich, you should be able to fill an hour a day with math.

Personally I spend about two hours a day on it. Yesterday I started doing problems using the Hida calculus, for TIME SERIES, which is something every kid should understand. Mean, variance, higher moments and correlations for the smart kids.

This is the day and age of quantum computing, right? Have to keep up. The Hida calculus uses a sample space of test functions that form an infinite dimensional Hilbert space, in the case of multiple time series it's formally analogous to a Fock space in quantum mechanics.

You can illustrate this with just a series of coin flips. The kids need to see the movie, they don't need the social justice indoctrination.

I use math every day.

A lot of algebra in calculations, then I do a lot of bookkeeping and accounting as well.
Don't have much use for calculus or trig in my daily activities, I am not an engineer or programmer, and what I build I can get by with a framing square and tape measure.

But I am not knocking folks who have fun with mathematics.
I like some of the theoretical sciences and will pay attention to people like Michio Kaku when he is talking about String Theory and Quantum Supremacy but do enough simple mathematical puzzles while working.

As far as Social Justice indoctrination, that tends to be a problem in certain districts.
If people are having a problem with what their children are being taught, they need to take it to their school board.
Other than that, parents just need to make sure they provide their children with the ability to recognize the garbage.

Common Core allows student the ability to express their thought process on a particular problem. There is no "One correct Way"
Many ways of solving a problem are correct.
Old school says...."No, you must do it this way."
Common Core says, "Show your thought process in spoken word or in writing, or a combination of both."

But do you want sheep, that only know ONE way to solve a problem, or more importantly, won't allow for any alternative thought processes.

The teachers are not responsible when the students walk out. I was a substitute teacher right before I retired and there was the school shooting in Florida. Many students walked out on a scheduled anti-gun violence protest from outside the campus in many schools across the state. Several students did not and stayed with me in class. I continued the lesson.

Most of the students left because they knew that there would be no punishment. They didn't give a shit as to the reason.

Then they should have been punished. My guess is if they attended a pro Trump rally they would be.
