I think that Western society has suffered from an artificial extension of childhood through the creation of adolescence that we'd be better off without. That view's pretty well summed up by this comment by John Darling:

Unsurprisingly, she hasn't and is obviously not able to. She chose to make that ridiculous and low personal attack based on an ideological disagreement with me.
