There is crazy, and there is not responsible for your actions crazy. The 2nd means you didn't know what you were doing, and you get the psych lockup instead of prison.
The Nashville shooter knew EXACTLY what she was doing. And that is was wrong. And that she was an asshole.

Speaking specifically of the nut's stereotypical hatred for school kids in sport coats and khakis, I can speak from experience, having gone to a Catholic school myself, that some people, observably, hold some kind of weird, bent up contempt toward them for whatever odd reason.
I've even observed some consume time and space to openly express that brand of antagonistic contempt towards Catholic school students on here as of late. Those, too, tend to do so while simultaneously raising an arbitrary victim status card.
Anyway. Best education I received, though. Heck. By the time I got to High School, I was so far ahead of the students who had done all of their time in the public education system that I didn't even have to try. Perhaps that might have something to do with the sort of contempt that some are known to hold and demonstrate toward those kids in particular. I dunno. I suppose its not just the mentally ill like the twisted Individual referenced in the OP who are eager to demonstrate that targeted brand of hatred/contempt toward that specific demograph. Jealousy perhaps? Could be a lot of things...

Focused on the one they would not release the manifesto for. They talk about violent rhetoric and then hide this. This was a result of the hate they are teaching children.

I dunno, man. I don't think the platform interjected in the flow of relevant information with many of the other mass shootings, if at all. I could be wrong, though. I don't use the platform. For some reason, though, I do recall reading posted material from that platform regarding similar incidents in the past.
