Stepping back and examining the broader picture.

To borrow from the famous Animal House line, ignorant and close minded is no way to go through life. You should read thru the article and examine for yourself what trump is doing.
Maybe you should not refer to it as a Regime if you demand OTHERS be open-minded. Your mind is already made up.

That's the problem with the Left's selective memory...most of the things they're so upset about now are things that THEY did, not all that long ago and when they were doing them, they were warned that doing so would leave the door open for them to done by the other side!

Another Dimwinger sore loser pissy pants thread.

I’m shocked, SHOCKED I TELLS YA!

This...........Dozens of lawsuits have been filed during President Donald Trump’s second administration. The suits challenge his executive orders as well as actions taken by his administration, including Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency or DOGE. The courts have agreed to block the president in a number of cases, and the administration is seeking appeals as well.

.......didn't happen when Obama was prez. Enough with the false equivalences.

So last night Mr. Trump attempted to seize control of more or less the entire federal government. He signed an executive order purporting to bring all independent agencies–including the FCC, FTC, SEC, and perhaps most chillingly the Federal Election Commission–under his individual control.

No other president has done this. Most have avoided even the appearance of interfering in the workings of these agencies for fear of being viewed as wielding inappropriate control over the affairs of agencies designed by Congress to be independent.

The point being these actions are unprecedented. Some may believe trump is doing the right thing. Or not mind he is doing the wrong thing. But it is happening.
It's ridiculous.
More or less seizing the government.

Really ?

How does referring to it as a regime or an admin change the facts? Answer, it doesn't. You just don't want to face them.

What legislation did Dem's block that trump addressed by issuing an EO?
Come on, Berg...don't be deliberately obtuse! The vast majority of Trump's EO's were to get rid of EO's from Barack Obama or Joe Biden. As soon as he did so you on the left immediately used activist lower court judges to get rulings to prevent those EO's from taking place! These are things that the American people voted for when they voted for Trump but you on the left don't care about democracy...you only PRETEND to care about it!

I refer anyone who disagrees with the premise of the thread to the link I provided. I'm done responding to deflections and false equivalences.

The constitution is about freedoms. It has rules also. We obliterate the rules, and it screws up everything. We need civility to survive. The constitution warned about elites and people who attain power with ulterior motives. That is why smaller government was pursued by a high percentage of the founding fathers.

If you have something cogent to say, please begin.
The premise and phrasing are absurd.

People are so desperate to turn three branches of balance into one dictatorship.
He's not Hitler,
It's not seizing the federal government.
Nancy pelosi tried with HR1
The people's bill.

God help us all

The strategy has always essentially been false equivalences with a multiplier.

So if another President did something, Trump doing it multiplied by a hundred is just fine.

It's no longer about right vs. wrong or constitutional vs. unconstitutional. It's about justification.

I think the best way to dispassionately evaluate the direction the trump regime is trying to take the nation is to delve in to the specifics of the actions it has taken. And, their intent. The scope of the actions is by itself breathtaking.

Tracking the lawsuits against Donald Trump's executive actions | AP News

Whether one agrees or disagrees with various court's rulings, from judges nominated by Repub and Dem prez's, blocking or delaying trump's initiatives from taking effect, I think it is fair to say said initiatives are designed to expand the power of the executive beyond traditional boundaries. Like giving the prez the power of control over government officials previously given independence from the office of the POTUS. Or seeking to strip away rights previously recognized as being bestowed on people by the Constitution. Or taking control of budgetary matters Congress has previously had control over.

Or, most recently, usurping powers traditionally possessed by the governors of each state to address unrest.

The point of the post being to reach a consensus. Regardless of whatever feelings one may have about the intent or legality of the actions taken, that their self-evident goal is the expansion of executive authority. Can we at least agree on that?

The dems have filed over two hundred temper tantrum lawsuits in four months Interfering with the will of the people. You assholes lost. Get in the back of the bus.
