Stepping back and examining the broader picture.

The point of the post being to reach a consensus. Regardless of whatever feelings one may have about the intent or legality of the actions taken, that their self-evident goal is the expansion of executive authority. Can we at least agree on that?

Judicial overreach - Yes, I believe that we can all agree on that.
We can agree on EXECUTIVE overreach

I think the best way to dispassionately evaluate the direction the trump regime is trying to take the nation is to delve in to the specifics of the actions it has taken. And, their intent. The scope of the actions is by itself breathtaking.

Whether one agrees or disagrees with various court's rulings, from judges nominated by Repub and Dem prez's, blocking or delaying trump's initiatives from taking effect, I think it is fair to say said initiatives are designed to expand the power of the executive beyond traditional boundaries. Like giving the prez the power of control over government officials previously given independence from the office of the POTUS. Or seeking to strip away rights previously recognized as being bestowed on people by the Constitution. Or taking control of budgetary matters Congress has previously had control over.

Or, most recently, usurping powers traditionally possessed by the governors of each state to address unrest.

It's simple. The broader picture is we have a shitload of people who crossed our borders ILLEGALLY. That's the broader picture.

That's been happening for decades. If you refuse to face the draconian way trump is dealing with immigration I can't make you.

What's also been happening is presidents such as Clinton and Obama deported many more illegals than Trump, by far, and yet you only bitch about Trump doing it.

So, stop spamming the board with what you already know are going to be unsuccessful efforts.

Trump will go to any lengths to get power…

We agree on that.

Problem is that you have no issue with that. You should

Kim Sajet is stepping down from her position as director of the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery, even as the network of museums disputed President Donald Trump’s announcement he was terminating her last month.

“We thank Kim for her service. Her decision to put the museum first is to be applauded and appreciated. I know this was not an easy decision. She put the needs of the Institution above her own, and for that we thank her,” Smithsonian Secretary Lonnie G. Bunch III wrote in an email sent to employees, which was shared with POLITICO.

Kevin Gover, undersecretary for museums and culture, has replaced Sajet as acting director of the museum. The New York Times first reported Sajet’s departure.

Trump announced his attempt to fire Sajet in a Truth Social post on May 30, referring to the director as “highly partisan person, and a strong supporter of DEI, which is totally inappropriate for her position.”
But whether the president had the authority to remove Sajet was unclear — and the Smithsonian, an independent organization created by Congress, disputed that he did.

I wonder if trumples can see the irony of trump trying to legitimize Sajet's attempted termination on the grounds of her being "highly partisan" given the attempt itself was highly partisan.
