The NFL’s first trip to Dublin came with a snag.

Steelers quarterback Skylar Thompson was the victim of a mugging on Friday night in the Irish capital ahead of Pittsburgh’s game against the Vikings at Croke Park, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported.

Thompson suffered minor injuries, but is OK and with the team, per Pelissero.

The 28-year-old was already on injured reserve after suffering a hamstring injury on Sept. 10.

“We are aware of a situation involving Skylar Thompson on Friday night in Dublin,” a Steelers spokesman told Pelissero. “We will have no further comment at this time as we are working with NFL security to gather more information regarding the incident.”

I'm not a fan of the overseas games but I thought Dublin would be a less violent venue than Mexico City.

We have subjected the good citizens of Ireland to Carson Wentz, which really is unfair to anyone interested in our version of football.
