Gee, quit playing with your "fallacy" and read the posts, Dumbass ...This fails as a straw man fallacy – another ridiculous lie from the right, just more ignorance and stupidity from conservatives who obviously have no idea what they're talking about.More bad news for the "gimme" Liberals....
States moving to restore work requirements for food stamp recipients | Fox News
States are moving to once again require able-bodied adults to put in work hours in exchange for food stamps, after the requirements largely were suspended by the Obama administration.
The slow-moving reversal follows the administration pulling back on Clinton-era changes that required recipients to work for government welfare benefits. Signing the reform bill in 1996 alongside then-Speaker Newt Gingrich, then-President Bill Clinton said the goal was to make welfare “a second chance, not a way of life.”
‘Liberals’ have no issue with work requirements for SNAP applicants, and fully support mandatory work programs.
Indeed, it affords those referred opportunities to participate in employment and training programs, job search assistance, and employment incentives such as OJT.
Hopefully this doesn't apply to the $120+ million in food stamps needed by military families to make ends meet. You know, the families that were torn apart by these same congresspeople who sent our men and women into these ridiculous wars.

How does that work for the people WITH jobs who get food stamps?
More States Enforce Food Stamp Work Requirements
Exact figures for how many people would be affected by reinstated work requirements in each state are hard to come by. In some states, such as Ohio, it is estimated more than 140,000 would be subject to the rules. But in every case, if most or all the adults were able to meet the work requirements — either through finding a job, enrolling in a training program or even volunteering — they could continue receiving benefits as long as they remained otherwise eligible.
So it looks like having a job meets the criteria...
How about getting one???
I'm retired with two pensions that probably pay more than you're making. Why would I want a job?
Let's make people work for their mortgage interest deduction.

About time. If you're able-bodied, you should be required to serve the community in some fashion.
there is trash to be cleaned up, graffiti to be removed, burned out street lamps need replacing, washing Gvmt. owned vehicles, plus scads of other work that any able bodied person can do.
Doesn't that qualify as having a JOB???

Or me...Doesn't that qualify as having a JOB???
it is more than just a job, ask any vet.., or me!!![]()
I agree, but you know the "Globull Warming" crowd...About time. If you're able-bodied, you should be required to serve the community in some fashion.

To be accurate, the Obama admin allowed States to opt out of work requirements during the Great Recession, if the STATES chose to opt out. Congress and Slick put in work requirements as part of welfare reform.
My income went up in the Carter years (and my father's house was paid for and he had money in the bank "earning" 20%plus interest.).To be accurate, the Obama admin allowed States to opt out of work requirements during the Great Recession, if the STATES chose to opt out. Congress and Slick put in work requirements as part of welfare reform.
You know - it tickles me to hear folks refer to the recession of 2008 as the "Great recession". I'm sure that a lot of you are too young to remember Jimmy Carter and his 18-19% inflation rates of the 80s - or home ownership at record lows, Unemployment at 17%. Funny though - when Obama "names" something - the left falls right into lock step.
Was it a recession? You bet! but nothing that couldn't be overcome by lying, cheating and stealing. How the hell do you have an inflation rate of 0% in a "robust economy" as our dear leader says? Of course, when you print your own phony money - backed by nothing - I guess it really doesn't matter, does it?![]()

If you are able-bodied and get a check from the government - welfare, unemployment, food stamps - you should have to do some type of work, even community service. I don't care if it's picking up trash in your neighborhood / community. You should also be subject to drug tests - if you have money for drugs, you don't need my hard-working tax dollars.
