State Dept. Cuts 1300 Stsffers jobs.

The only thing that isn't coming down is interest rates. If they lower them the economy would boom.
Lowering rates might juice the economy short-term, but it’s not a cheat code—you still need the fundamentals right. Otherwise, you're just trading long-term stability for a sugar rush.

Stepping up only works when the mission’s clear and the tools are intact. Gut the staff, and you’re not asking them to step up—you’re asking them to hold the line with broken gear and fewer hands.
Baloney. Im asking for less govt when we are broke.

Cuts need to be made

Appreciate the perspective—and I agree some roles outlive their usefulness. But I’d be careful mistaking invisibility for irrelevance. A lot of the State cuts hit cybersecurity, crisis response, and diplomatic logistics. If they’re doing their job right, most folks never notice… until the day it matters and no one’s there to respond.

Testing lol! Beep..On TV did nothing for anyone but they got paid well to do it?
Tornado sirens, heat warnings, flash flood warnings. Everyone had em up to earlobes for 50 years and yawn, irritated to hear it again.

They can't tell you it going to rain next week but a 50-50 chance, yet highly paid. Close them all down. Watch the sky. You're in charge of your ownself you pitiful Cattle herd.

GOVT the biggest Welfare fraud of all. Let the States handle it.

No, it would open the housing market to younger people. Making it easier to get a loan for a house.

not yet.....what makes you think he aint coming for them?...
Well, the PO has sucked since Obama messed with it and then Trump messed with it, too.
That's one thing that really should be subsidized by our government in order to protect American Shipping hegemony.
Something could be done there. Possibly more airmail.

bush fucked it over too.....if they would let it be run like the business it is and get the govt out and let it sink or swim...there would be a lot less problems with it....

Sure—cuts may be necessary. But when we’re broke, that’s when it matters most where the knife lands. A clumsy slash risks disabling the very arms we’re counting on to pull us out. Let’s make sure we’re not gutting rescue crews while leaving the ribbon-cutters untouched.

Would it lower annual GOVT interest payments to pay for debt? Sounds weird? Past debt? Or more debt?

CD and savings rates drop in banks?

If that’s how you see it, fair enough. But when the sirens go silent and there’s no one left to staff the radar, it's not the bureaucracy that takes the hit—it’s the folks downstream from the warning that never came. Quiet roles don’t mean useless ones. Some jobs earn their keep by keeping the worst from showing up.

You type much and say nothing.

That’s a fair goal—and easier access is good. But if rates drop without correcting inventory, wages, or land costs, prices can still sprint ahead. The door’s open, sure—but the house might be further down the road than folks can reach. Expanding zoning reform—like the bipartisan proposals to legalize more duplexes and triplexes—would do more to bring housing within reach than rate cuts alone.

I said let the States do it if they want to and need too. Like FLA. Heck, people can tune in the weather channel if they have cable. Alert the neighborhood be a hero. We can't pay WASH DC staff of 1000 $125K + benefits to broadcast a test pattern since the Cuban missile crisis for the love of GOD! Revamp it. This is 2025. The hood has cellphones you dumb Oxyen.

Sometimes clarity makes people squint.

I dont want the truth at $28T for part time work from home scam artists or do-nothing Congress. Clean it up. Streamline, modernize, eliminate, consolidate. This is not paper files stacked up like 1968. Just Stop on me!

Fair enough. Florida’s made moves to localize, and that’s worth noting. But not every state’s ready. After the Lahaina fire, Hawaii’s warning system failed outright—no sirens, no evacuation alert, just smoke and wind. A cell phone can’t help if the grid's down or the message never comes. FEMA’s funding for hazard mitigation was on the chopping block last year—exactly the kind of quiet role you don’t notice until it’s too late.

I really don't know the answer to that. But 7% interest on a home loan. Makes getting a loan almost impossible for a young person wanting to purchase a home.

The current rate is 7%, that puts a young buyer out of range to purchase a home.

They burned 98 alive in their homes in the simple forest fire they mussed spreading into suburbs in Paradise CA fires WITH all the GOVT possible in place. They move like snails. God help us if it comes FRI-SUN.

So you don’t know if they are necessary or not? Just was asking because they are scrambling to hire back 125 in the NOAA after they found out they fired necessary people. It happened at the FDA and a whole bunch of places.
Necessry or not, trump gave his supporters what they want...the chance to enjoy someone losing their job.

These are seriously sick fuckers.
