Me either. I'll take a train or private plane. The last straw for me was when they ripped the silk lining out of a relative's Samsonite dressing case I knew had been in use for 30 years or more.
That was beyond the pale.
Only partially lead their Jew and Christian lives.
They must pay a special tax.
They are not allowed to proselytize, ring the church bells, be blatant in any way.
Not allowed to build new churches or synagogues.
They are a second class of citizen, must defer to Muslims.
A couple/few other constraints also, IIRC, but don't recall what at this moment.

As for female circumcision, it may not of originated with Islam, but in many areas where Islam is dominate, it persists.
Similar applies to pederasty. An Arab culture custom before Islam, but also persists. Part of the rewards in Paradise IIRC.
I agree, for a few reasons.
1) We don't want to alienate that portion of the Iranians who want the theocracy gone and be able to have more liberty in their lives ~i.e. our potential allies in that country.
2) If we stay the course, infrastructure rebuild will be on us once the regime is changed. Need to keep it economical.
3) Power, water, etc. are essential for sanitation and to prevent starvation. Extra burdens the USA/West don't need to incur.
4) Our goal is (should be) regime change as in remove the theocracy and replace with some form of democratic republic. We need to remain focused on that.
5) Arming portions of the populace willing to remove the theocracy, with some SOF aid/advisors, is the next necessary step. Doesn't mean we have to have "boots on the ground" ALL OVER THE COUNTRY; only a few key enclaves and temporary at that.

If they do these things, Islam protects their lives and properties, and it, thus, becomes unlawful to kill them unless they commit a crime or felony that makes them worthy of being killed in compliance with the rulings of Islam. Then, on the Day of Judgment, Allah Almighty will be in charge of their reckoning as He knows their innermost thoughts.

This above presents a couple of key concepts.
1) Any land/region once part of the Dar-al-Islam is considered to always be such. If taken over by non-Muslims and Islam + Sharia are no longer dominate~in control, than as soon as means are available, that land needs to be returned to the Dar-al-Islam.
2) As will be seen in later maps, next post, many regions shown in this above map are no longer within the Dar-al-Islam. Such are just further down the "target list" to deal with at later date.
3) Israel/Palestine is an obvious earliest acquisition (conquest and conversion). Along with it's geographic key position and being site of a couple Holy Sites for Islam, it has been a prime target, especially after 1948.
It isn't so much as the Jews, anyone other than Muslims would be targeted, in effort to regain this land into the Dar-al-Islam.
