Didn't see any pickets in front of their location here in Hermitage, I guess people aren't as gungho about following Union work rules and having an army business agents sticking their noses into their business to enforce them.

BTW, this isn't Big Labor's first foray to try and get involved in the coffee racket. Burt and Patsy tried to shake down Starbucks in Newark 20 years ago and it didn't work and I don't see what has changed.

So since I spend too much time on FaceBook, I am witnessing two conflicting memes from the Left on the subject of Starbucks. First, their coffee is too ******* expensive; Second, they need to pay their employees more.

Do I have that right?

And alternatively, it costs too damn much to go out to dinner these days (it's Trump's fault, of course), and the restaurants should pay their servers a "living wage," and 30% should be the new Standard tip. If you can't pay a 30% tip, you should just stay home.

This is not just ignorance of Economics. It is ignorance of arithmetic.

In all of the areas of cost cutting, the most simple has to be take out coffee/tea. We have Tim Hortons here and there are always lines of cars.

I can buy a large box of tea bags for far less than $10. I might get 120 tea bags or thereabouts.

One tea at Tim Hortons is between $1.50-$2 I guess, I haven't bought one in many years. So after approximately 5-6 teas I have spent enough money for the 120 tea bags.

The math is ridiculously easy to appreciate.

I haven't paid for coffee when I'm out of the house in over 20 years.

I have a Ninja single K-Cup coffee maker and a travel mug, which I really only use on my way to work.

I just don't get why people don't save money on the simple things you can do from home.

Last time I went out to eat was this past Veterans Day. Applebee's and then Red Robin that night with my wife. Both meals were free to me, and we chose Red Robin because my wife's birthday was coming, it's today actually.

I have some expensive hobbies, and ain't nobody has time for Starbucks' horrendous swill.

The Applebee's steak wasn't to bad, I like the butter sauce they use. The Red Robin burger was absolute shit.

The wife stopped at Arby's the other day and got me the "steak nuggets" they advertised.

It was expensive at around a dollar a nugget but five of them sated my steak desire.

I don't know what the cut was but they were damn good if you like well done steak like I do....Tender too.

I guess my point is that I simply won't subject myself to a sit-down restaurant what with their tip-screens and lackluster service when there is good take-out available.

It's almost ALWAYS cheaper to do it yourself at home, no matter what it is.

A local Mexican restaurant uses robots to serve your table. It'll come down to the desire for human interaction vs. costs. Are consumers willing to cough up 25% for the privilege of having a human to interact with or will they prefer saving the money?

$5.81 with tax is what they are in my area. Tax here is 9.75% which may be the highest in the whole country right now.

God bless you always!!!

Holly

P.S. I am not a coffee drinker and so Starbucks has never been a place that I frequent.

Huh, I'd like to see that just for the novelty.
