What intel can they get that they can’t get from satellites? You didn’t answer this. You just repeated yourself and dropped a funny rating.

Let me be of assistance:

A Balloon Is Spying on the U.S. From the Sky. Here’s Why China May Be Using Old-Fashioned Surveillance Technology When Satellites Exis

Yet even with satellite technology surpassing some abilities of balloons, James Char, a research fellow with the China Programme at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies in Singapore, tells TIME that spy balloons have some operational advantages. For example, balloons can weather extreme conditions, he says, and are less expensive to deploy and operate compared to satellites. Chinese Academy of Science scholars found in 2020 that, despite harsh environments at more than 68,000 feet above ground, “the high-altitude balloon has long endurance time, which can achieve sustained and wider coverage for regional observation and detection.”

“It is harder to be spotted by radar as well, given the fact that they’re simpler in terms of technology,” Char adds. U.S. officials admitted the balloon flying over North America this week was first spotted by civilians on a plane.

Where does your article say anything about better resolution?
That article addressed being not so easy to shoot down.

Regarding imagery, satellites are in an orbit with a limited loiter time over a target.

“Not only are they cheaper than launching satellites into space, but by operating within the bounds of the earth’s atmosphere, closer to the surface, they can obtain better quality images,” he added. The latest generation of balloons are high-tech in their own right, “envisaged as systems that can fly up to 90,000 feet” high, “deploy their own drone systems” and detect incoming missiles.

Balloons can soar above the range of most planes, Clarke said, and their slow speed means they aren’t always picked up by radar. Additional technology or paint can help to conceal them further.

Satellites can provide high-resolution imagery, Clarke said — but balloons can stay over one area for longer periods than satellites, if the weather permits.

From the link:

A senior defense official noted on Thursday that, for China, the balloon flying over Montana “has limited additive value from an intelligence collection perspective.”

I guess the cost difference makes sense. Not that it makes sense to tip their hand like that.

Not to be out done by the Chinese the Kardashians launch their own spy balloon. :auiqs.jpg:

Well there you go. Makes sense. I guess it’s possible.

I know China is not our friend. I just don’t see them being so directly confrontational with us with such an easy target for us to shoot down. I can see Russia or North Korea doing something like this. Not so much China. But we’ll see.

Look at most of the people He ended up with, deep stater's....think it was by accident?

I do not think it was by accident, he choose them.

And now you are saying it is because he was so incompetent and ignorant that he did not know they were deep staters. We all knew, how is it that he did not?

This was an unprecedented national security threat.

Under Joe Biden and Democrats we have an open southern border and now we have China floating spy balloons across the continental United States without any fear of recourse by the Biden regime.

I read that Trump's top security advisors said it never happen, which means Potatohead is a friggin liar..

You have a hard time understanding that? Typical for a stupid uneducated low IQ inbred Moon Bat.

Is that what you read? I read that the Pentagon wouldn't tell Trump or his cast of idiots.

A Department of Defense official revealed over the weekend the existence of the three balloons after President Joe Biden ordered the U.S. military to shoot down a fourth balloon.

In a statement to Fox News, Trump said that the balloon incidents "never happened" during his presidency.

An official, however, confirmed to Fox News that the balloons had only been "discovered after" Trump left office.

Rep. Michael Waltz (R-FL) revealed that the spy balloons that happened under Donald Trump were never discussed outside of the Pentagon.

Fox reported that the former president and his national security officials never had spy balloons that came over the United States under his administration. According to Waltz, the Pentagon is saying that there have been spy balloons over the U.S. in the past, including some over Florida that he said he was previously told about.

And it looks like this was confirmed by DOD in it's own publication

"Department of Defense" under Potatohead as the Commander in Chief and his merry little band of queers and transsexuals have about as much credibility as Pee Wee Herman. Remember all the other lies we have heard from the Potatohead administration?

Especially after the security advisors under Trump said it never happen. Even John Bolton who is no supporter of Trump.

Would it kill Potatohead to tell the truth for once in his life?

Apparently so because he always lies when confronted with his ineptness. Always. We see it daily.
