The Southern Poverty Law Center on Tuesday labeled several parentsâ rights organizations âhate and antigovernment groupsâ alongside groups such as the Ku Klux Klan.
The extremism watchdogâs âYear In Hate and Extremism 2022â report counts 1225 âhate and antigovernment extremist groupsâ being present in the US last year, up from 733 in 2021, with several of the new additions focusing on parental rights and education issues.
âSchools, especially, have been on the receiving end of ramped-up and coordinated hard-right attacks, frequently through the guise of âparentsâ rightsâ groups,â the SPLCâs report argues.
âThese groups were, in part, spurred by the right-wing backlash to COVID-19 public safety measures in schools,â the report adds. âBut they have grown into an anti-student inclusion movement that targets any inclusive curriculum that contains discussions of race, discrimination and LGBTQ identities.â
The SPLC report hones in on Florida-based group Moms for Liberty â a nonprofit with 280 chapters in 45 states and 115,000 members â as one of the organizations âat the forefront of this mobilization.â
Comment:
This is another example of how the SPLC uses hate and fear as a political tool.
They brand and label mainstream people as "extremist".
One of the Left's new branding labels is "hard right"
It is normal for people to not want children to be taught to hate and to be sexually groomed in the public schools.
The Left doesn't want parents to be able to defend their children from Left Wing Hate Ideologies (CRT, DEI ESG...).
