I've decided to take this opportunity to 'teach' a course on human spirituality. This is non-religious. I want to make that clear. I have no particular reason to either support or condemn modern religious teachings or the beliefs-in-faith of others. I am sure others could teach me things about their own religious beliefs, but I am not interested in exploring those with this course. Spirituality Workshop 101 is purely about the human spiritual connection and nothing more. Set aside your "Religion" hats for a while, and let's study the nature of human spirituality.

From the very oldest human civilizations we've unearthed, we find evidence of human spirituality. In fact, you would be hard pressed to find any cultural civilization of any significant length of time which was devoid of human spirituality. This attribute has followed us like an old friend through the ages. Always present, always there to guide us through peril or disaster. Always there to give us hope for the future, to encourage us to continue onward. Your spirituality as a human is one of the most profound and important personal aspects of who you are. It's a deeply personal inner-understanding you have with yourself as to what you "really" believe.

I often anger Atheists by saying that atheistic people tend to be some of the most 'spiritually connected' people there are...... Boss, how can that be? How can you say such a thing? Atheists are Spiritual? Yes, in a sense they are. The Atheists you are aware of because they've made it a point to let their Atheism be known, are very well aware of a spiritual nature that is the source of all this "God-believing" happening, which puts a damper on the whole Atheist vibe. Nothing but morons attack an enemy that's not real, and so is the case here. The Loud Atheist is a big believer in a spiritual power they are aware of and know exists. It is the motivation for why they are being vocal, why they profess their Atheistic beliefs vociferously. It's why they get so angry and call people names and argue for page after page about their atheistic beliefs. They MUST defeat this very real enemy, spiritual nature!

I will simply deal with these Atheist protesters by calling them Spiritual Atheists, which is what they are. They believe they can somehow behave in whatever selfish moralistic compacts they can get away with devising, and pretty much dictate their own morality without spiritual guidance and with nothing but desire for personal pleasure as their compass. Eventually, what they all seem to discover at some point in their life, is humility. A humbling experience has to happen for them, before they can reconnect with their spiritual side. It's sad whenever this doesn't happen and they die as Atheists, never having realized the beauty of human spirituality.

As humans, we are all spiritual creatures. Some of us have learned cute little tricks to fool ourselves into thinking we are not. We will create false idols... things that we can genuflect toward as guidance in proxy of spirituality. Academia, Science, Philosophy... Conventional Wisdom, Religion, Propaganda. All of these can offer temporary solace to the human spirit in place of human spirituality. Unfortunately, our society has grown to the point of self-indulgence and instant gratification that human spiritual connection is fighting an underdog's battle with time. More and more people are finding ways to tune out their spiritual connection in favor of indulging in personal pleasure and instant gratification than ever before. And it will continue to decline as time passes.

For me, it is like watching a train wreck happen in slow motion. There is nothing I can do to prevent the inevitable, our civilization will collapse eventually. In the meantime, I feel it is my duty to fight for a better understanding of human spirituality, and what it means for you.

People sometimes ask me, Boss? How can I learn to 'connect with spirituality?' But it's not all that hard to do, you must first begin by accepting there is a spiritual nature you can connect to. Unless you can accept this, you can't handle the connection.

Once you have come to terms with this, the rest is a matter of personal discipline and routine. You may set aside 15 minutes in the morning, or maybe even 15 minutes in the evening... or perhaps more time or both? This is entirely up to you. What you are going to do in this time is what some may call "praying" or "meditation" ...it's a time to clear your mind of all thought and concentrate on your spiritual connection. You are 'at one' with the universe. Some people like to enhance this experience with a pristine natural location or perhaps fragrances and herbs to open the mind? Hey, no judgement in Spirituality Workshop, I am just saying. Surely you get the picture.

You are going to try and focus on the areas in which your spirituality can help you and ask for guidance. In doing so, think about what you have done to enable positive spiritual energy flow. Are your words or pride standing in the way of something beautiful happening? Perhaps more strength of patience? We are all 'lost souls swimming in a fish bowl' as the great philosopher Floyd once said. Never forget that spiritual energy is capable of some pretty phenomenal things. This doesn't mean you can always get anything you want, as another great philosopher (Jagger or Richards?) said, "you just might find you get what you need."

If you do this for a month, you will come to understand that spiritual nature is pretty effing cool. In fact, you are finding that you are happier and things seem to be going better than ever before. You feel a sense of being whole inside. There is no need for the partying and indulgent behaviors of the past because you just don't have those desires anymore. Something has filled that void. Now it doesn't work 100% of the time on everybody, but I suggest, if you do not see any results, examine the first step some more.

Some people like to toss around the word "Faith" a lot when dealing with human spirituality. Faith is belief in something without proof, like abiogenesis theories. I only believe in things that are proven to me, and so my "faith" in human spirituality is not really proper "faith." It is more of a belief in something with very real proofs which I have personally confirmed.

Human spirituality is beneficial to humans, it's provable.:eusa_pray:

Snake Oil that has been doing its thing since the dawn of civilization.

Google 'timeline religion' sometime to see how religions came to be. History of 'spirituality' goes back quite a ways. Didn't have 'religion' proper until we had writing, so until then it was more of what we'd think of as 'spiritual practices.'

The earliest evidence of Hominids, such as Neanderthals[2][3] and even Homo heidelbergensis,[3][4] deliberately disposing of deceased individuals usually in funerary caches. The graves, located throughout Eurasia (e.g. the Pontnewydd Cave (Wales), Atapuerca Mountains (Spain), Qafzeh (Israel), Es Skhul (Israel), Krapina (Croatia),[3] are believed to represent the beginnings of ceremonial rites, although there is some debate about this.[5] Neanderthals placed their deceased in simple graves with little or no concern for grave goods or markers; however, their graves occasionally appeared with limestone blocks in or on them, possibly an archaic form of grave marking.[3] These practices were possibly the result of empathetic feelings towards fellow tribespeople, for example: an infant buried in the Dederiyeh Cave after its joints had disarticulated was placed with concern for the correct anatomical arrangement of its body parts.[3]

The Neolithic Revolution begins and results in a worldwide population explosion. The first cities, states, kingdoms, and organized religions begin to emerge. The early states were usually theocracies, in which the political power is justified by religious prestige."
