SpaceX Starship reaches for the stars. Complete success

We already put men on the moon.

Starship landing on the moon is by far the dumbest idea he's come up with. I think he undercut everyone else to force the government to give him the contract so he could spend the money to develop Starship expecting the whole program to be scrapped before it ever requires him to deliver any hardware.
There are multiple corporations working on the Artemis project.

Before SpaceX, the politicians gave China our rocket technology and we began using China to launch stuff into space.

The money to develop Starship comes from the Starlink satellites and Tesla. The contracts awarded by NASA is not building the Starship.

Musk got $4 billion to convert Starship into a lander, but the mission profile for landing Starship on the moon is ridiculous and that's nothing to say about how totally unsuitable it is for landing on the moon.

So they're definitely using government money to develop Starship.

Yes, we got awarded a contract, like boeing and blue orgin and relativity, etc..

Your tax money is not building the Starship. The Starship is not being converted. It was always designed to land on planets, or moons, in space.

There were some problems with it today, some plates were missing before takeoff. Somebody's gonna get fired.

Do you know anything about the proposal for SpaceX to build a lunar lander? It's a converted Starship. So yeah, they're definitely using the government contracts to develop it.

Whatever you think, if this project works, even with limits it will be transformative. The second Space Launch System Launch to circle the moon with 4 astronauts is scheduled for mid 2026. The first one unmanned was launched late in the year in 2022. They are scheduling at most one launch a year because it is so expensive. The third launch is supposed to land on the moon.

Humans don't need to travel into space. It's extremely expensive and dangerous.

The focus should be on the science we get from space exploration, not the means by which we get there.
Great, tell us how you get science from space exploration without traveling into space. You know a company that has humanoids ready to deploy to the moon, asteroid, or Mars ready to conduct the necessary science?

Are you saying NASA can build a lander cheaper than $4 billion? This government money you speak of isn't "given" to SpaceX. Musk provides a service and goods and therefore should receive payment. I am sure you don't work for free.

We’ve been launching payloads into space since the 1950s. Manned space flight eats up half of NASAs budget and provides very little science.

It’s a terrible return on investment.

I’m saying there isn’t going to be a SpaceX lander.

I’d have kept the money until he handed over the product.

The US better haul ass. China is feverishly working 24/7/365 to build a moon lander. China is desperate to get their hands on that helium 3.

You know SpaceX was given a blank check of $4 billion upfront?

Last I checked, I think they’ve received about 70% of the funding.

Have you seen a lander? It doesn’t exist.

Blue Origin was award $3 billion to build a lander also. Have you seen it?

Nope and it probably never will. Artemis is a terrible mission architecture and needs to be scrapped.

No Democrat or Republican are willing to scrap this. You wanna know why?

Biden’s NASA administrator was an empty suit. Congress is mandating hardware and it’s a total shit show.

Uh, we did get a contract. Yet we developed the ability to land on planets and moons without the contract.

you seem to be looking for a silly reason to be upset when you should be happy.

Over a trillion dollars was spent by the USA on windmills and solar panels and you want to complain about sime spare change, in comparison spent on rockets?

In all seriousness, aren't you picking a fight where there is none to pick. You cant really care about this.
