President Bashar al-Assad’s regime killed dozens of civilians on Tuesday in a series of airstrikes on rebel strongholds, according to several sources, leaving dozens dead.
Syrian warplanes struck the towns of Kafr Nubl and Maarat al-Numan in the country’s northern Idlib province, according to the Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights and other groups. In Kafr Nubl, airstrikes hit a fish market, the sources said.
More than 50 people were killed by the strikes, according to social media accounts affiliated with the Syrian opposition. Dozens of the dead are reportedly civilians.
