You're right...Stronger then global warming and probably stronger then plate techononics. This is because we can directly observe evolution.

Directly observe, and understand many of the mechanisms since the decoding of DNA. We have observed speciation events, and the fossil record just keeps getting better as more sites are excavated.

There are no "proofs" in science, and anyone who assumes that there are "proofs"is a scientific ignoramus who doesn't know what he is talking about.

The theory of evolution is well established scientifically because it accurately describes the observed processes and it explains the accumulated evidence. There are no competing theories that work. The same is true with climate science and AGW. There are no viable competing theories that can explain the evidence.

Ophialites are types of formations that include igneous, this is rift zone material, as well as sedimentary and metamorphic material. A very simplified version here, and any given ophialite may or may not include all the rock types listed.

Ignorance is unfortunate but it happens. I also question the merits of that study given the results.

That said, the problem people have with creationists is not that they don't understand evolution but that they are actively trying to deny evolution and push God in the science classroom. If anyone was pushing that the sun goes around the earth I would have a serious problem with that.
