I have already filed and paid; our taxes went up from last time; and yes, as long as it goes to fully fund social security benefits I say tax the hell out of the wealthy. Inflation+reduced SS payouts will screw Gen X.

I feel good about paying that money too....like I got value for that money.

I helped Somali immigrants steal money.
I helped Gavin waste more money.
I helped some Lil fudgepacker in Jakarta feel better about his choices.
I helped Boasburg go way beyond his jurisdiction...
I helped more congressman sit on their buts to insider trade stock.
I helped other immigrants get money for daycares that doesn't exist.

How we gave electric carmakers all kinds of money to build factories for cars they don't make and wouldn't sell if they did.

Mine went way down. As a matter of fact, last year I was paying quarterly (for 2024), for 2025 I recouped most of what was paid for the previous year, and now paying nothing quarterly.

I did quite well. Got 25000 in overtime deductions.

Actually got money back

Our total taxes balanced out.

My wife and I were both salaried so the tips/overtime deductions didn't impact.

There was the additional senior tax deduction, but the saving there was pretty much offset by increased import taxes.

Not complaining, but it was pretty much a wash.

All of my income is from investments, to which I pay no attention whatsoever. I have a Broker who has increased the value of our portfolio every year despite our living off them (plus Social Security). In fact, we don't even pay attention to how our investments are doing...only the bottom line. They send us a fixed amount every month regardless of how our investments are doing.

My tax person called us in January with good news and bad news. The good news was that we made "too much" with our investments last year, and the bad news is that we will have to come up with about thirteen thousand dollars next week, on the 15th, to cover Fed and State income taxes.

I can't believe that I just don't give a shit. It's all "monopoly" money to me.

I suppose we will lose money in 2026. Again, I don't really give a shit.
