That Tomb in Nablus is made of stone, they set a fire inside of it, after the Israelis had withdraw after a gun battle, you can burn stone all you want, once it's out just paint over the black stain and it's good as new; the people who set the fire knew that; the scripts/antiquities inside of it had been removed prior to the fire and the Palestinian security forces did eventually take control of the site, it was not 'destroyed'.
I think the other people on this board have never spent much time in a developing country much less lived in one; your perceptions are based on what you read and see in the American media TV/Magazines, this media is controled by rich white people and most of the influential people are rich Jews.
I been in the refugee camps in Lebanon, the ones in Gaza and the WB, I talked to Arabs in Lebanon, Jordan, Palestine; Never once did I hear one complain that they don't got no 'freedom of speech'; what good is 'expresing your opinion' when no one in the west gives a fck, when your oppressed in an aphartied state and your property is confiscated by this 'democracy' - and it's BS anyways, one of our relatives in the 1980's-she was sitting in some public outdoor place talking to her friend, she was talking shit about the government-not about the conflict with the Palestinians or the PM, just basically talking about how corrupt politics are-like anyone would, one of these 'intelligence' people heard her, identified her, and she was banned from ever working for the city. It didn't matter that our family had worked for the cities of Haifa and Nazareth since it was the Turkish Governorship of Palestine, or that during the war in 1948 Jews who worked with my grandfather for the City of Haifa called him and told him not to run, they would protect him because he was so well liked, that our family had never been involved in any politics or militancy, she was black-listed.
When I was in Lebanon people were talking shit about Assad all over the place, there was an election for the parliament the politicians, especially the Christian ones were saying all sorts of crap about the government, including that the Syrians should get out, and they've had open protests their about the Syrian military presence, so much that it has now redeployed out of Beirut to the Bekka valey (CNN)(BBC), Jordan didn't seem so bad either, yet according to the American media the Arab states are just so 'despotic', I don't know what to believe, whatever..
IMHO, What you have in the occupied territories and in Iraq is a general uprising against an oppressor, I don't see the Syrians going into poor shiite neighborhoods and killing people by the hundreds or putting their cities under bloody seige.
I think Americans better wake-up; your being spoon-fed a load of ka-ka; Freedom! Freedom! Freedom!-every occupier and oppressor throughout history has used that word-everyone fights for Freedom, your gonna lose in Iraq - because you got sucked in by the Zionists, they told you it was 'democracy' and the Arabs were 'terrorists' and you believed the big lie, and like my Crusader ancestors, we're all fcked.

But they don't KEEP it. You see, they were, under Oslo, required to protect Jewish holy sites. Instead, they are vandalized and destroyed, like the one in Nablas.
They, the Arabs, are really "keeping" the holy land.
Also, were you under a different government- not in Israel- you would have much less freedom to express your opinions. Were Israel a regime similar to that of any of its neighbors, your outspoken hatred for the nation would not be tolerated. YOu would be dead or incarcerated by now, or you would sit and nod in support of the "mother country." However, Israel is not the despotic regime that some of its neighbors are, so you have nothing to worry about.
