Solar transforming the desert

One Chinese project has demonstrated how technology and nature can be partners in improving life for all. In one of the most inhospitable deserts on Earth, a very large solar farm is not only producing power but increasing the habitability of the area.

And you still don't believe that large solar farms cause a localized cooling effect?

Wind and solar will destroy the economy unless we stop it

Well, you may be for stopping it, but Pam Bondi, Fox News, Jeff Sessions, Chris Wray, the entire 911 crowd do NOT want to stop it, or they already would have...

curious how can bondi stop solar? don't think she has the power to put a huge tax on it

democrats will take tax money to buy this BS thinking it's super green and it's just great

not spooky nuke plants

Silly ass, it takes 7 to ten years to build a nuclear plant. So anything started in 2020 would not be online before 2027. In the meantime a wind farm or solar farm can be built in a year.

Building a nuclear power plant typically takes 7 to 10 years from the start of construction to grid connection, with total planning and licensing extending the timeline to 15 years or more.

Typical

The construction of a nuclear power plant is a complex process involving detailed engineering, safety protocols, and regulatory compliance. From the first pour of structural concrete to electricity generation, most plants take 7 to 10 years to complete, though some projects have been finished in under 5 years or extended beyond 12 years depending on location, reactor design, and workforce experience. When including the planning, licensing, and permitting phase, the total timeline can stretch to 15 years or more.

Historical

Analysis of 441 operational reactors shows that 374 were built in 10 years or less, with a mean construction time of 7.5 years. Exceptional cases include reactors completed in as little as 3 years, primarily in Japan, the USA, Russia, and Switzerland, while some projects, like Atucha-2 in Argentina, took 33 years due to long construction halts.

Factors

Several factors influence the duration of nuclear plant construction:

Summary

While nuclear power plants are slower to build than some renewable energy projects, modern construction averages 7 to 10 years, with planning and licensing potentially adding several more years. Efficient project management, experienced workforce, and standardized designs can reduce this timeline, whereas regulatory complexity and first-of-a-kind designs can extend it significantly.

False Three Mile Island will restart in less then year. A small modular nuclear plant can be built in 3 years. Mothballed carriers have two small reactors and submarines have one. They can be converted to generate power in much less time. Trump has changed the regulations to make building them faster. 3-5 years
Wind turbines only last 10 years and cost too much which makes recovering the costs impossible in 10 years unless you charge high prices. Thats why they are being canceled. Solar cant meet demand of AI and data banks and must buy surplus energy at high costs.

We will use fossil fuels until nuclear can replace it. Low cost and reliable. Renewable energy will wreck the economy

China depends on coal for most of its energy. Solar cant meet demand

Every US AG from Mukasey to Bondi is a 100% pure traitor for not prosecuting CO2 FRAUD....

Do they have the authority to do that? I doubt it
class action against who exactly?

1. The "Global Warming" claim was always deliberate intentional fraud. They knew what they were doing, misinterpreting Urban Heat Island Effect and blaming it on CO2
2. To perpetuate this fraud, many crimes were committed way beyond just fudging data.

There are literally 10 million Americans with some legit claim of accessory to fraud/treason.

totally agree, sadly 10 years I bought into this as well.....

I bought stock in a solar company that was building a new plant close by

it was 25% done when they "ran out" of money, it stopped, stock tanked and went under

false promise, today I am sure after selling off anything of value it's still there as an ugly shell

The true kicker........this was during Obama ,company was from HI......they got NO help from him

can't support a solar company from his apparent birth place........LOL
more proof that was false as well, kenya beach in a tent

What a batch of misinformation and lies. And not a single reference.

"Located on 450 acres in central Maui, between Kūihelani Highway and Maui Veterans Highway, Kūihelani Solar-plus-Storage is producing 60 MW of renewable energy supported by a 240 MWh lithium-ion battery energy storage system to supply 15% of Maui’s energy needs.

AES Hawai’i has a 25-year power purchase agreement with Hawaiian Electric that went into effect on May 31, 2024, to provide renewable energy for Maui’s power grid at 8-cents per kilowatt hour. In addition, the project is offsetting the need to import two million barrels of oil to produce electricity for Maui.

AES Hawai’i President Sandra Larsen noted that this is the company’s first utility-scale solar project on Maui and the latest example of how AES Hawai’i is committed to supporting the State of Hawai’i’s 100% renewable energy and decarbonization goals of 2045."
