Second, in Cuba education if financed by the government to the post graduate level. Many Cubans get educations free of charge for skills that pay much more in the United States than in Cuba. No one should be surprised that many of them choose to move to the United States for that reason alone.

I have no illusions about life in Cuba. I do not like dictatorships. I do like to express my opinions, including my hatred for President Trump. It is not yet illegal for me to express that hatred. What I do believe is that in a number of respects the Cuban government is as good as the U.S. government, or even better. When we consider that in Cuba the per capita gross domestic product (GDP)is much lower than in the U.S. (as is the per capita GDP is of every Latin American country) I think that is a significant achievement.
