But when Joe Biden opened the border and refused to enforce the law Trump could have built 2000 miles of wall and it would not have mattered. BUT stats do matter, border encounters went from on average 2.3 million annually during the Biden years to approx 400K in 2025. The 400K is an achievable number when the border security is allowed to do their jobs aided by every mile of fence built. Think of the rapists, murders and drug traffickers who were unable to enter the US in 2025.

The wall was already there, and Democrats did not open the border. When Trump took office in 2017, border crossings were at a historic low. After Trump left in 2021, we had a problem.
