Social Security Says It Will Stop Accepting Bank Changes Over the Phone

"will impose tighter identity-proofing measures — which will require millions of recipients and applicants to visit agency field offices"

These are for account recipients under suspicion of being dead or collecting on a fraudulent claim ONLY... a lot of people who lost older people in the family who was receiving SS never reported the person dead... they must prove who they are... there is nothing wrong with this but here is AP twisting the truth again...... and here is a willing Crepitus and Moonglow swallowing it hook line and sinker.....
I never have to go in person.

I’m for adequately staffing social security to provide senior citizens the help they need instead of closing offices and laying off workers.
So, you're for fraud in fraudsters diverting money seniors need to other accounts not controlled by the seniors?

The only people that would be required to go to a physical location are those that can't/won't provide proper identification thru the website. What's the problem with that? Oh, right ... those attempting to steal will have to come up with a different plan.

The outcomes for the buildings varied: some faced lease termination, others were consolidated, backfilled, leased directly by agencies or moved to federal space.

Sounds like an easy way to save some money. Tell me, do you really think there is going to be no SS offices in Las Vegas, or do you think they might just be closing one of the many field offices?

Idiot. Read your sources.

" Beginning March 31st, people will no longer be able to verify their identity to the SSA over the phoneand those who cannot properly verify their identity over the agency’s “my Social Security” online service, will be required to visit an agency field office in person to complete the verification process, agency leadership told reporters Tuesday."

Hmmm, I must have missed the part saying "ploy to remove people from the rolls so they can give your money to billionaires via tax cuts"....but feel free to plug in your BS.
You do realize that I am required to add my commentary to start a thread, right?

And that the easiest way to do that is to extrapolate what they are doing?

I did read it.

You ready to stand in line?

Go On , De Crappy .

What if they are over staffed and don't need so many workers and offices? Do you have any evidence that's not the case? The Govt seems to think it is the case.

I'm sure you want to believe that.

Is this a good thing or a bad thing?
It depends, if you are a fraudster, it's a bad thing. If you want to protect SS from fraud, it's a good thing.

We know where Dembots fall on this
