Republican voters think "we" are over regulated. Because corporations tell them they are
See?
All you do is lie.
I don't even want to get into it but Trump deregulations are going to cause a lot of harm long after he's gone. And they already are.
See?
All yo do is lie.

I didn't say there was or wasn't. Post #396 suggested that you were ignorant of this fact so I was educating you on the subject so that you wouldn't remain ignorant. You're a fun guy to correct because you are such a condescending jackass.
I asked a question now whos condescending

The irony of you calling someone else condescending is hilarious. 🤡

Oh I freely admit I'm being a jerk right now and I won't even try to rationalize I'm moral for doing so. It's totally worth it.
You asked a question? Riiiiight. It makes it even more delicious watching you try to wiggle out of it. Your pride is so precious and fragile. Can't have ding dry humping you.

Republican voters think "we" are over regulated. Because corporations tell them they are. And then they point to 1 or 2 ridiculous regulations that do seem like too much. But then they go and undo regulations that are very much necessary.

They never talk specifics. Regulations should be discussed one regulation at a time. But Republicans have been brainwashed to think all regulations are bad. So they defend Republican politicians whenever they deregulate. Even if it doesn't seem like a good idea. Environmental regulations especially. I don't even want to get into it but Trump deregulations are going to cause a lot of harm long after he's gone. And they already are.
I stopped reading at over-regulated. I worked govt.. for a long time. 1 hr. private would complete what government "does" in 100 hours at well north of $100 an hour to do wrong. I'm averaging, as the closer to welfare the more progressive the hours "required" to get the job "done".

The U.S. government acquires and holds corporate stock through several avenues: [1, 2, 3]
  • Strategic Corporate Stakes: The government holds direct shares in key domestic companies—such as a 10% equity stake in Intel—and stakes in critical minerals and defense manufacturing firms (e.g., MP Materials). These stakes are often acquired to protect national supply chains or through the conversion of federal grants. [1,
They are limited to 10% so I see nothing wrong with it
So some socialism is okay with you. Exactly. I think a lot of Republicans miss this point. They cry that Democrats want socialism. No we don't. Just like you said though when it's a key domestic company, and they are gouging us, perhaps the government does have to step in and take over 10% of their business'. Oil, prisons, energy companies, bankers, car companies, chip manufacturers, technology companies, farmers, etc.

So they stay private companies just the government is a 10% shareholder. We the citizens. I like it. Great idea dude.

Still capitalism right? You see nothing wrong with it, until a Democrat does it.

Like I said before, when Jack Welch broke the social contract with his workers in the late 70's and he started firing 10% of his work force every year regardless of how well the company did that year, profits skyrocketed. That hurt the American middle class but helped profits. You sided with profits.

Sending their high paying manufacturing jobs overseas helped profits too.

Chinese kids can make 100 phones before you finish one.

Chinese men cost a lot less too. So once you've done away with government jobs will you turn on workers in the private sector? I bet you will. You're a corporate shill after all right?

Jack Welsh is a bit of a prick but he had a fiduciary obligation to shareholders. He didn't have a fiduciary obligation to America's middle class.

A fiduciary obligation is a strict legal and ethical duty that requires one party (the fiduciary) to act entirely in the best interest of another party (the beneficiary).

If only American unions understood labor is a global commodity, and demanding high wages/benefits only serves to get jobs sent to lower-cost overseas labor pools.

See above. Why pay US workers more for less work?

Let's see if you are at all fair and balanced. Do you recognize they are both condescending?

This reminds me of when you guys cared so much about Hillary's private emails but then not a peep about this

Top Trump administration officials faced intense criticism over hypocrisy in 2025 when it was revealed they discussed classified military war plans on the commercial, encrypted messaging app Signal—in a group chat that inadvertently included a journalist. This provoked immediate backlash, as these same officials built their careers heavily scrutinizing Hillary Clinton for her use of a private email

A fiduciary obligation is a strict legal and ethical duty that requires one party (the fiduciary) to act entirely in the best interest of another party (the beneficiary). It demands absolute loyalty, good faith, and the avoidance of any conflicts of interest or personal gain.
Yes, it is significantly harder to fire someone in Germany compared to "at-will" employment in places like the U.S. German labor laws heavily favor the employee, requiring valid legal reasons and a strict formal process to avoid litigation or fines.

Right to work laws originated with the passage of the federal Taft-Hartley Act in 1947, which granted individual states the authority to outlaw mandatory union membership or fee payments as a condition of employment.

Michigan became right to work in 2012. Republican governor Rick Snyder.

This didn't all just happen in 1978. It just started happening then. Actually it looks like it started in 1947. Slowly but surely, we have moved towards where we are now. Most middle class Americans aren't saving enough to retire at 65. Not like back in the good old days. Back then 35% of our workforce was unionized. We had big fat thriving middle class the world had never seen before.

GM was our largest employer. Today it's Walmart.

This is why I say they aren't "American" companies. They don't care about anything other than profits. If the car might kill you, they weigh the cost of recalling vs. paying you because the defect killed your baby or mom or sister. If it pollutes, they don't want to pay for clean air. If it's cheaper to have it made in China, do it.

Government can either allow or not allow them. Trump would allow. Biden/Kamala would not.

No one is coming to save you. Especially not the government. I don't care which party pulls your puppet strings. You're on your own. Choose wisely.

M14 Shooter

Or remember you guys said Clinton or Joe Biden sold out to China?

Donald Trump sparked controversy and backlash recently by defending Chinese ownership of U.S. farmland—including parcels near military bases—arguing that restricting foreign investment would crash land prices and hurt American farmers.

Or you cared that the Biden's did business with China?

  • THC China Development LLC: Donald Trump set up several small, specialized companies to pursue projects in China, including THC China Development LLC. Financial disclosures have shown that these entities claimed expenses for travel costs, legal fees, and accounting, but the ventures were ultimately abandoned. [1, 2]
  • Chinese Bank Account: Records revealed that Trump maintained a bank account with a Chinese bank having offices in the United States. Representatives for the Trump Organization stated this account was opened to pay local taxes associated with exploring hotel deals in Asia. [1]
  • Corporate Payments: According to reports released by House Democrats examining foreign payments, Chinese state-owned enterprises (such as the Industrial & Commercial Bank of China) spent millions of dollars at Trump properties (like the Trump International Hotel in Washington, D.C.) during his time in office. [1, 2]

Oh really? Tell that to the GM employees who would have lost their pensions if Romney won

The Obama administration's 2009 General Motors (GM) bailout was a massive federal intervention that injected roughly \(\$51\) billion into the company through the Troubled Asset Relief Program (TARP). In exchange, the government briefly took a 60% ownership stake, restructured the automaker, and successfully brought the company back to profitability before selling off its remaining shares in 2013.
