Probably not. Steve Bannon refused and he is not in jail, but he was charged with contempt of congress. He hasn't had his court date yet.

All of congress has to vote on a contempt of congress charge and it is likely the full congress would cut him a break if he chose to not answer the committee questions under oath....imo.

Trump isn't going to answer their questions. He can't imo, on the grounds it might incriminate himself. Not with the committee...they have no criminal indictment power that he needs to protect himself from.... But the DOJ is running their own 1/6 investigation that he needs to protect himself from, and it is likely his lawyers will advise him, to keep his mouth zipped.

Yes, the committee is purely political. They have made up their own narrative about Trump but really have no real evidence. With Hillary, there was plenty of evidence of either wrong-doing our outright ineptness.

The trouble with that is (and I have watched parts of the testimony) questions are phrased in a biased manner. For example: "Do you remember what you saw during the riot?" or "what did you hear Trump say about the riot"etc. That kind of inquisition would have been challenged in an objective inquiry.

Hillary for 11 hours under oath, being questioned by Gowdy and his Benghazi Select Committee was partisan, slanted as well....but in the end we did find out information by questioning her.

They haven't shown all the videos. The lost a main instigator Ray Epps seen in 2 videos urging people to go into the Capitol. He was never arrested yet people who were not even there have been hunted down by the FBI.
