Also, you say they were miserable. Did you ever consider that they may have already been miserable before they started a family?

To each their own, you don't seem to like kids. Personally, I like kids. I already had five kids that I know of when I was 22 in 1989. They're all adults now and have given me 2 adorable grandchildren so far. And my wife bore me child about 3 years ago and wants at least 2 more after she finishes medical school and her residency. I guess you just have to like family life and be unafraid of responsibility to want to have so many kids as young as I did.
