So let me get this straight...Zalensky is now complaining about WUT? Escalation?

Alright....I mean at some point you have to begin looking for a different path to the solution. That would have happened 18 months ago without the constant input of war money being flushed away to oblivion on the corpses of the very same people we are claiming to help. What's the end game here?
For Us?

Keeping Russia from expanding.

It depends. Mexicans and Georgians (as well as many other nations) decided that peace (even with some territorial losses) is better than a war with no chances to win.
Since when do they have no chance to win?

Ok....I guess I kinda get that....not sure how it's our business....but you're usually a good source of info so I'm listening.

Global politics is always our business. Russia is unlikely to stop on their own and before long we will have the USSR mark II owning half of Europe and pushing us cold war style all over again.

I think that the Mexicans hasn't a chance to win the war against the USA from the very beginning (from the point when the USA is getting really iand directly involved). American (mostly WASPs in time, I believe) people saw it just as another Indian war (or may a religious European war). When white people are endangered by Indians or Protestants are endangered by Roman Catholics... Ok, it's really strong motivation. You just cancel you current business and go to help your fellow men. That's how American colonists survived in mostly hostile environment. "You attack one of us - you attack all of us". But, definitely, I'm not an expert.

When Mexicans realised it, and as there were no the equal reaction in the Mexican society - they preferred to lost 2/3 of their territory but save their people.

So while Russia has apparently not used this class of missile strike before in this war the recent move by the US to permit longer range strikes has opened a new avenue of counter attack for Russia.

Surely the message from the US permitting this new activity came with warnings that this might happen no?

We keep hearing how Russia is basically defeated and ready to keel over. Not seeing that yet....just not seeing that.

Jo

Russia is increasingly getting worse, the rouble is down massively the last couple of days, basic food items are costing a lot of money. Russia still has fight left in it, the problem is Putin has always tried to bluff, and he's gotten away with it. The Ukraine just need a little more time before Russia will see serious damage to its country (on top of what's already happened)

What is worse - to lose rest of Ukraine (which never was really yours), to lose Poland, to lose Alaska or to lose 90% of American population? Raising bets with weak cards - is direct way to be defeated.

I'm surprised the Uke's haven't taken Mr Z out yet.....~S~

I suspect it would be us, with total US backing , who issue the signal for the Mad Midget to be disposed of.
His handler is our Sir Richard Moore , head of MI6 .

Given that, it poses the question --- what exactly do the US and UK believe that the Midget can still achieve for them before he is down graded?
Very little that I can think of . But maybe there is no obvious replacement for him ---- someone who will be as servile as the Midget is to advancing US and UK strategy .

Putin fluffers need not apply.

I'm not big fun of Putin's personality, or, to be more specific, of his scenic image. But I do value Putinism (which can be described as a sovereign pragmatical democracy) as a system and I love Russia as a culture (actually I'm a part of it).

It is "sovereign democracy", not just "democracy". It means that the government work for the best of Russian people, not for the profits of Democratic Party of the the USA.
In the terms of individual freedoms Russians, of course, has more than most of Ameicans.
