I've been of the opinion for a long time now that 99.99% of "protests" in this world, whether they be larger gatherings like BLM, Occupy Wall Street, No Kings, or smaller events like protesting hospitals that do abortions like I've seen locally in the past, are nothing more than exercises in virtue signalling that accomplish absolutely nothing but giving the partipants warm fuzzy feelings about themselves. When all these wind down eventually, the people who showed up will tell you that they "made their voices heard" and "helped change the world", but nothing substantive will actually have been accomplished as a result.

A few days ago I read that the "No Kings" promoters were encouraging people to bring American flags to counteract this negative optic. Sure enough, all of a sudden, these people had American flags to wave. Reminded me of the DNC primaries that were absent any American flags...untill they noticed that it did not look good.
