So California is on fire again...

Somehow, nothing was learned from the apocalypse on Maui last year.

Prevention costs money, and when the prevention succeeds and no catastrophe happens, people say that the money was wasted.

We only respond to disasters - it cheaper in the long run.

It's a nature preserve, dumbass.

Sweet Jeebus, you're desperate.
Then I guess it’s time to rethink making a huge plot of flammable underbrush a “nature preserve.”

Please, name the species that was being protected at the cost of all these peoples lives and homes?

The apologizing you need to do is to those you said we’re lying about clearing underbrush being banned. Saying “Uh… nature preserves don’t count!” doesn’t change how wrong you were about that.

Of course, but when the local government in criminally negligent I say the president must protect us.
Would you keep on protecting us, as you say, without addressing the reason that we "need protecting" in the first place? Just keep signing checks? Checks that will bounce if we don't borrow more funny money?

It's mainly the years of accumulated dead plant material covering the hills of SoCal fueling the fire and the leadership doing nothing to mitigate the fire they KNOW is going to happen.

^^^ That!

You think local governments and state governments, even the federal government should force us to pay more for electricity than we should?

You think the government has the right to take our money and do anything the want

You thing governments can make policy making food to expensive

You don't think governments should have police departments

Nobody is to protect us?

Please, name the species that was being protected at the cost of all these peoples lives and homes?
As I keep pointing out, so many on the right are simply incapable of thinking and acting at an adult level.

This one literally thinks that if certain select vegetation is left unchecked in one small part of a nature preserve, the whole area is in danger of burning down.

And he expects not to be laughed at. Really.

The apologizing you need to do is to those you said we’re lying about clearing underbrush being banned.
And I was right. Just admit I was right, and stop crying about being called out on being so wrong. The fact that you found a tiny exception to the rule doesn't mean I wasn't right. It does mean you're dishonest and desperate. You should apologize not just to me, but to the whole board.

I did not find a tiny exception to the rule. I found with the search of a few seconds a perfect example of how wrong you were to claim that no one is banning clearing underbrush.

I am noticing that these fires seem to be starting in the trails in the hills, upwind of populated areas.

Makes one wonder if these are not deliberate acts by some kind of eco-terrorists.

Here are pictures of the Grenada Hills (Archer) fire which started and was extinguished today...

Newsom Reassures Fire Victims He’ll Be Prepared Next Time, Now That He Knows Water Is Useful In Fighting Fires

SACRAMENTO, CA — As wildfires continued to spread destruction across large swathes of California, Governor Gavin Newsom reassured victims of the fires that he'll be more prepared next time now that he knows water is useful in fighting fires.

In a meeting with a crowd of people whose homes, cars, and belongings had been incinerated by the fires, Newsom reiterated that he won't dump all of the state's water into the ocean next time, as it could come in handy battling the blazes.

"I'll be the first to admit — having some water available would have been beneficial," Newsom said. "But now that we've been informed that water is helpful for extinguishing fire, we'll make sure not to put all of it back into the ocean. This time was an unavoidable mistake — we just didn't know. I plead ignorance. Now that we've learned our lesson, next wildfire season should go a bit more smoothly."

Newsom's statement came after several days of intense research into fires and how to put them out, in which his staff discovered that water was the oldest and most effective substance used by human beings to extinguish flames.

At publishing time, Newsom further reassured fire victims that the state would be even better prepared for the next wildfire season by asking the delta smelt fish if California could borrow back some of the water it gave them.

Next time!!!???

Is there anything left to burn in a next time?

When you run for Prez, and fail. You'll understand... maybe

It starts with correctly diagnosing climate change.

What happens when Earth actually does warm??

During the Jurassic Period, the Earth's climate was much warmer and wetter than it is today.

Those fires are not about a bogus 2F temp increase, they are about LACK OF WATER...

If Earth actually was warming, as it did during Jurassic, it would get WETTER because when you heat the oceans, more H2O goes into the atmosphere....

DUH...

A WETTER Earth has FEWER FIRES not MORE....

I've never seen it published; perhaps it is confidential and held close to the vest by the far-left environmentalists? What is the ideal temperature for Earth? If we don't know that figure, how will we know if we're moving in the "right" direction?

As for the fires, California citizens voted for them for decades. Gee, they say, let's keep the remaining vacant just as before humans walked the face of the earth. NO humans are allowed, and NO proven management techniques are known to reduce the risk of fires getting totally out of control. As a result, they don't have fire lines cut through the forests to slow smaller fires and provide access when there is a fire. They also refuse to allow for controlled burns. In a controlled manner, they burn the massive undergrowth that resulted from a wet spring and summer and then a very dry fall. California radicals convinced most voters that thousands of acres and structures destroyed are small prices to pay for the life of the Delta Smelt and virgin-like forests.

A decade ago, voters also approved a bond issue to build seven new reservoirs in the same areas as these fires. To date, not one has been built. Do you think seven reservoirs, full of spring and summer rainfall, would have made a difference with those dry fire hydrants? I kind of think they would have made a difference. But, then, I'm just an older-than-dirt codger from Florida, where we also have huge forests, but we use modern techniques to manage our forests. Just sayin'.

Well, call me crazy but it seems that homelessness should be a crime. What if we find out that one of or all the recent fires were started by the homeless?

Almost 14,000 fires were caused by the homeless in one yesr in Los Angele

There are people dying in the fires caused by the homeless. Newscum and all the politicians are aware.

The governor of California should be charged. This is reckleds endangerment
There were 13,909 homeless fires in Los Angeles in 2023, almost double the number of such fires in 2020, according to LAFD data.
"People are literally dying in the streets, in tents burning down around them," said Levi Freeman.

He and other residents have been emailing Mayor Karen Bass, Gov. Gavin Newsom and their City Councilman Hugo Soto-Martinez, saying the increase in tents fires is an "absolute crisis" and urging them remove tents from the sidewalks
.

Democrats simply deny the problem exists and they lie about the problem.
I don't trust the democrats to tell us the truth about how this fire started.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and California Gov. Gavin Newsom are now under pressure to not only reopen the section of Interstate 10 as fast as possible, but to find out who started the fire and what oversight the state had on the property. Bass has warned repeatedly against assumptions that homeless residents started the blaze, but that hasn't stopped speculation and blame.
Some of the tent dwellers may not even carry "Tent Insurance" policies. The tragedy is some of the smaller tents may house fifteen-twenty of the chronically unemployed commies in them, with the bigger tents tall enough that one does not have to crawl into the tent on hands & knees they might house 30/40 of the commies. A tent neighborhood goes up in flames & that means a LOT of those creatures wandering the streets.

THE ANWER!!!
