The point is SNAP benefits might not be available for people next month because of the Trump/Johnson government shutdown. You seem to think all welfare recipients simply need to go find a job and problem solved. I am simply telling you it would be nice if this issue was that simplistic, but it isn't.

51 republicans and 3 democrat/independents voted to open the gov't. This is Schumer/Jeffries shut down. Trump has nothing to do with it--Educate yourself. Employers list jobs and their salary. People interview for jobs that they can do. Its not that complicated.
The government can't keep supporting people who refuse to work. If you are able-bodied you need to find a job or starve.

Able bodied adults without children have to work to get SNAP....under certain conditions there is an emergency allotment that allows SNAP for only 3 months out of a 3 year period for them.

Able bodied with no young children that are working as unpaid caretakers of the elderly or disabled can get SNAP.
