S3e19
Lex’s consciousness is breaking through. He is experiencing repressed feelings from childhood trauma. Now we find that he killed his brother and I wonder if that is why Lionel hates him. Perhaps living with self hatred and his dad’s judgmental glare and now the awareness of it will plunge him into the vast abyss of self destruction.
But will he seek to destroy others as well. He didn’t get love from his mother nor his dad. The baby was his last hope and that vanished.
Clark’s concern lands him in another Lionel scheme and now he becomes the guinea pig.
Oh that was intense. How did Clark not die from that?
Oh shit, the mom killed Julian.
That moment between Lex and Lionel was excellent acting. Outstanding finale to Lionel’s hatred. Lex can now move on.
Ooh and another tender moment with Clark and Martha.
Ok, this episode made me want to cry.
wow i NEVER in my wildest imaginations thought YOU would say this episode made you want to cry, after all we are talking about the same person who NEVER gets goosebumps over moments in this show i find touching and gives ME goosebumps.lol
clark did not die because i guess sense he is superman he has some kind of superhuman strength to fight it off.LOL

3:56 that moment when Lionel realised how right his son was. He was a ruthless man who did anything to get what he wanted. At that point in his life he wanted a real family. To have that taken away from him by his wife he would have burnt the earth to make her pay for murdering his son. To realise his son lex realised this also at such a young age was shattering.

considering the person Lex becomes in the future its no shock he does business with a MURDERER,the same guy who tried to kill that kid Ryan in season two.
i can only guess that clark does not die cause sense he is superman he has some kind of amazing willpower to fight the kryptonite.
these comments from some fans below say it better than i EVER could have,i have nothing to add on they, aid it more brilliant below than i ever could have.

People forget just how good the acting was for this show. The emotions are so authentic.
The line where Lionel says "if I'd known, if...if I'd seen. Things would have been...so different between us" always bothered me because even after Lionel learns the truth he doesn't change. He still treats Lex awfully. And given the memories Clark sees in Lex's head in 7x12 Fracture it shows that even before Julian was born Lionel was an abusive father to Lex. So Lionel may think in that moment that he would have been a better father to Lex if he'd known the truth but his actions throughout the series say otherwise.
And this stone cold monster just lets her son take the fall for her murder? And then has the gall to snipe at him for making the “wrong choices” in the future re: the state election with Jonathan Kent? Lex Luthor grows into a monster, to be sure, but I really don’t like how all the blame for that falls onto Lionel and not Lillian who...again, framed one child for the murder of the other child. What a beastly woman. Honestly, had she lived longer Lex probably would’ve been more screwed up than he was: and that’s saying something.
It's scenes like this that make Smallville so good. Michael Rosenbaum and John Glover truly were the best things about this show. Their acting and chemistry was so perfect and whenever they had an emotional scene like this, they just completely stole the show. Smallville did such a great job at humanizing Lex. The way Lionel treat him, it's not really unimaginable that he turned out the way he did. Seriously, Lex took the blame for the death of his brother because he feared what Lionel would do to his mother if he knew the truth, and Lionel basically admits that thinking Lex killed Julian is the reason he tread him like garbage for most of his life. "Of I had known, things would have been so different." It's funny. In a way, Lex kinda got close to what he wanted; his father's affection, but because of his repressed memory, he started despising Lionel even more. I mean think about it. Imagine your mother killing your brother to save him from your father and then realizing that your father would most likely kill your mother if he knew the truth so you take the blame, knowing he'd come down on you less hard. That's gotta screw anyone up. Especially after remembering it when you're an adult and realizing how right you were when your father basically admits to what you thought back then. No wonder Lex turned out to be a psychopath
And people say Lex’s dad was bad and his mom turned out to be even worse.
