Those who come to Sweden must respect our democratic values and live honourably. The expectations and requirements for becoming part of Swedish society must be made clearer and stricter to preserve our open and free society. Those who do not wish to become part of this community should not come to Sweden.

Sweden also made a massive move, years ago to save it's SS system, one that we should adopt here....they privatized it

I'm not hijacking the thread; this is a fundamental issue. If you want a "liberal democracy" with UHC, you MUST put a cap on immigration. Otherwise the entire system fails. You know this, you just can't reconcile it in your head.

Not sure where you get your info but you are mixing up old “marginal” tax rates and making up some claims. I assume you know what a mmarginal tax rate is.

• Sweden briefly had a top marginal income tax rate of ~85% in the 1970s,
  but only on very high income groups.
• Denmark peaked at around 72–75% marginal rates for top earners.
• Norway was similar.

These tax rates did not apply to normal workers.

They were:

• on the richest 1–2%
• based on old progressive brackets
• levied on income far above the median

This is no different than the U.S. having a 94% top tax rate in 1944–45, affecting only top income brackets.

Your claim on people working making the same as not working is unsupported. Wages drop to 60-80% at retirement.

You can pick a random policy from each nation that is appealing to you but you cannot dispute that all the successful nations are liberal Social democracies that have high tax rates, broad welfare states, and high trust.

Low taxes, everyone on their own, rich people own it all capitalism doesn’t work. That’s why there are zero right wing success stories.

A random policy here or there doesn’t undo the basic structure that works and it isn’t right wing failure policies you want to try out in the US.

I never said Sweden wasn't successful, but it's not the liberal country you claim it was, in fact it's an example of another right wing country that is very successful and I think we should really consider adopting their immigration and SS policies,
