Democrats are fighting for a $35b ACA subsidy to keep the ACA affordable. That works out roughly to $35b/20m people or $1,750 per ACA premium. Why should they be subsidized and no one else? Trumpcare would provide for every citizen.

Trump's offer of $2,000 per taxpayer works out to 154m x $2,000 = $308b which uses up all of the new tariff revenue.

Trump Floats Cash Payments For Health Care, $2,000 Tariff Dividends

So what would we get for the $2,000 "Trumpcare" rebates?
1. Those 68m on Medicare would have their $2,000 go directly to Medicare, fixing Medicare well into the future.
2. Those 15% on the ACA would be keeping the "subsidy", plus healthcare premiums would be regulated like utilities. Possibly incorporate the Swiss system of healthcare.
3. Those 85% who get healthcare insurance at work would get a $2,000 check.
4. Those 78m American citizens on Medicaid would have their $2,000 go directly to Medicaid to offset costs.

There are 146m people on Medicare or Medicaid. Their $2,000 rebates would go directly back to the Treasury, 146m, x $2,000 = $292b seems high, but assume its correct.

If there are only 154m taxpayers/tax-returns, and there are 146m on Medicare or Medicaid, some tax returns include multiple people.

So if $292b gets paid back to Treasury for Medicare and Medicaid, the $308b "Trumpcare subsidy" would only be ($308b - $292b = $16b) net add, down from $35b for the ACA subsidy, plus it would "fix" the Medicare insolvency, and provide funding for Medicaid.

In short, the $300b tariff revenue would ALL go to funding "Trumpcare", including every citizen receiving some benefit.

This Trumpcare proposal needs to include all of the "pay-fors" in the BBB, including the DOGE savings, and as many claw-backs of democrat slush funds as can be found.

The subsidies are based on income to make health insurance affordable for people who can't afford it in the private marketplace. Of course, we wouldn't be having these discussions if the country had moved to a "Medicare for all" system which would have allowed for much better controls on medical cost inflation and a lower per capita cost for healthcare.

That's a lot to unpack. Was there anything in there about paying down our 38 trillion dollar debt? What if the Supreme Court decides Trump can't unilatterly impose tariffs without Congress?

The Constitution doesn’t give the Feds the power to provide healthcare.

Bullshit. If you look at single-payer systems, no one gets healthcare, they come here for immediate care.

The last sentence keeps the $1.5T cuts in the BBB, and the $600b in claw-backs from Podesta ($375b), Stacy Abrams ($2b), the EPA's Zeldin ($20b), the DOGE savings ($214b), and the zero connected internet ($42b)

If the supreme court negates Trump's tariffs, he can re-issue them using other sections besides IEEPA.
OR, congress can back Trump with new legislation.

So how does the ACA exist and get $35b in subsidies?

We're talking about a universal healthcare subsidy funded by tariffs.

Thanks for showin' your hand, Commie Mamdani.

$2,000 will do ****-all to make a dent in Americans' health care costs. If you even spent a mere FIVE SECONDS thinking about it, you would know that.

But Trump NEVER wants his cult to think critically.

NEW tariff revenue has not come even close to your $308 billion figure.

And have you seen all the wonderful things the Trump admin has promised they were going to pay for with tariffs?

Tariffs will replace the income tax! Tariffs will finance an as yet undefined child care initiative! Tariffs will create a US sovereign wealth fund! Tariffs will eliminate the federal deficit! Tariffs will pay down the federal debt! Tariffs will fund health savings accounts for everyone!

It's hilarious. Trump is writing checks the American taxpayer can't cash. He's worse than Obama, and that's saying a LOT.

And your math is wrong. A $2000 check to every American will add $6 trillion to the debt.

Face it, cucks. Trump lied right to your submissive little faces. He had no Obamacare replacement.

He lied to you about many, many things so you would place him in a position to grift the ever loving **** out of the position. He doesn't give a flying **** about you and your health care bills. He's never had to worry about how much it costs.

Now he's puking up a stupid idea rejected as undoable decades ago. He must have blown three inches of dust off that plan.

He knows you are too ignorant and stupid to know that.

Not even his most weaseling, groveling trucklers in Congress will swallow this shit. That's how bad it is.

No one knows what will happen next. There are Senators working on options, and House members working on options. One possibility is a short-term extension of the subsidy with strings to ct costs and pay-fors. But nothing formal yet.

Give every citizen a million dollars and let them decide where to spend it.

He knows that the mid-terms are coming and if he doesn't figure something out the democrats will take the House, then it will be like when Nancy was speaker, nothing but pissing contests. At least that will be entertaining.

Thune, Johnson and Trump will need to formulate something to keep the House.
My favorite is to raise the top tax rate to 40% and eliminate the Capital Gains tax break,
That gives money for subsidies and takes the democrat talking points away.
