since its been proven that the whole Russia , Russia , Russia, native where the left tarnished the first Trump admin with charges of Russian collusion has been proven a fake political attack narrated by the left and Intel officials.. should the journalist that won the highest award for journalism that reported on and carried the fake story be forced to give back the awards they won ? or should they be allowed to keep the awards for story that was claimed to be a fact and a political bombshell that was eventually proven as lies and propaganda created by political operatives ? Trump is already suing for the Awards won by reporters from the NYT and Wash Post to be taken away ..

Not only is it curious how you win an award for telling a fake news story, Trump is also looking into Bob Mueller and the other guy principle to the whole Russiagate story as to how these people could have been in charge of these big cases yet never discovered any of the exculpatory evidence that showed there was no connection between Trump and Russia at all.

Back in the 1980s, a Washington Post journalist wrote a story about her interactions with a poor, black DC family in which drugs were rampant. The heart-breaking part was of her telling of the 8-year-old heroin addict (I seem to remember his name was Jimmy), and every day was another installment.

EVERYONE was talking about it. This was before internet of course, and the first thing people did in the evening was crack open their copy of The Washington Post to learn of the latest of poor little Jimmy.

The story was well-researched and beautifully written. The journalist ultimately won a Pulitzer for her work.

The problem? It turned out she MADE THE WHOLE THING UP.

(Any old Washingtonians here remember the story?)

Im too young to have read such a story at the time but I am sure I read an article about this story much later, within probably the last 10 years. It's quite shocking really but as you said, it wasn't the Communication Age yet.

If someone was writing a story about a fake Russia Gate, they should give the award back. Better yet, why don't the demand it be returned?

As I am a consumer of plenty of media, I once saw an interview with Christopher Steele of the Steele dossier. He took questions and provided his point of view.

I suspect he was a spy in some capacity. If not professionally and still active than post-career as an opportunist. The ovation he received when introduced...I mean....

It's difficult to be a person of character and integrity, but one has to remain so.

The Pulitzer Prizes are an award by the ultraliberal, antisemitic Columbia University.

Lying is the kind of journalism that they teach at Columbia. The journalists who showed their lying aptitude certainly do deserve the awards as they met the highest standards at the school.

The media fell for quite a few stories or perhaps deliberately published the stories for ratings regardless who they harmed.

Duke rape case
Jussie Smollett
Susan Smith
Two Muslim women claiming Trump supporters yanked off their headscarf after Trump's first victory.
Tawana Brawley rape hoax

Sorry bout that,

1. Throw them in Prison now, they reported total lies, to the American People.
2. Do the crimme do the time, four years.

Follow up question: Since Barack Obama didn't actually do anything to earn a Nobel Peace Prize, should he give that back?

There is no scandal.

The attempted collusion happened. More than 100 contacts with the Trump campaign were made by the Russians.

Manafort, Flynn, and Stone were involved.

Not any number of pardons can wipe the stain from Trump and his buddies.

Further proof that todays journalists cheapen everything they touch....the "Pulitzer", along with the "Nobel", were once awe inspiring awards, not even white liberals hold that view of them anymore, they're just bowling trophies now.

I'm sure at least one of those reporters is happy to hear you bought the BS, the other reporters are just laughing at you.

Have you ever heard of Hendrik Schon?
  • He was a brilliant PhD physicist hired by Bell Labs.
  • In short order, he had made a number of brilliant scientific breakthroughs, discoveries and inventions in the fields of condensed matter physics.
  • In one year alone, he had no less than five scientific papers published in Science and another three in Nature.
  • Each of these were peer-reviewed and found to be impeccable.
  • In 2001, he was putting out a new scientific paper every 8 days on average. He was the Wunderkind of the 21st century and folks were comparing him to being the next Einstein.
  • His work promised to extend Moore's Law by bypassing limitations in silicon physics and switching to a revolutionary form of organic computer chip technology which promised to allow further miniturization of chips smaller than that possible with silicon.
  • He was awarded several esteemed prizes in physics. The work was revolutionary. Everyone was all over this.
But as time went on, physicists studying the work accidentally noticed that a few of the equations or graphs in one set of work oddly mirrored those in another.

Others trying to duplicate some of the work ran into problems.

A year long review was done at Bell Labs and it was finally determined that everything Schon had published and claimed had been literally made up by him and was a total fraud. It was all jibber-jabber. Schon was fired. His doctoral degree was revoked. But for several years, his work was considered pivotal in the scientific community and not only was much other research based on it, but his fraudulent work had passed muster with and had been extolled by innumerable scientists and experts in the field before being discovered to be total nonsense.

She should have been charged with a criminal offense. I am serious. This isn't just any ordinary citizen making stuff up and lying to people. Newspapers are charged with informing the public. They serve an incredibly important function in society. Any time something like this happens, where a member of the press knowingly lied, they need to face a stiff jail sentence.

Janet Cooke was a liar from the get-go. On her resume, she made up that she graduated from Vassar, that she has a grad degree, that she even spent a year at the Sorbonne.

And the city spent a fortune trying to track down the non-existent “Jimmy.” (I remembered his name correctly - do I have a memory or what?) They had police and social workers combing the streets looking to rescue the boy, and Janet Cooke said nothing.

Her boss admitted that he suspected the story was a fabrication when he submitted it for a Pulitzer and that her race had something to do with his decision to nominate her anyway. Even the judges on the Pulitzer team admitted that her gender combo (black + female) entered into their decision. So Affirmative Action played a role even back then.
