Do to the extreme leftist bias in the media, as exempified by the lack ofcoverage of AG Barr's thrashing of House Judiciary Committee Democrats, should Fairness Doctrine be brought back by FCC?

We'll need government subsidies ... and yet another big huge bureaucracy to manage it ... obviously there's no profit to be made by right wing media bias ...

Funny how the Socialist Left has money ... but the Capitalist Right doesn't ... weird ...

No. Just storm the media buildings with a few hundred people, claiming oppression, and trash the place to the point that it will take months for them to do any news reporting.

Might be interesting to note the Fairness Doctrine was originally championed by Republicans concerned about how much face time (okay ear time) FDR was getting with his "fireside chats". And that it was invoked by no less sleazy a figure than Joe McCarthy after the famous Edward R. Murrow broadcast. CBS gave him an entire show to respond.

Ultimately the issue is not "fairness" but Sensationalism. The unwashed masses will buy all manner of contrived bullshit if it smells good.

You don't know much about broadcasting ... destroy the antennas first ...

And you don't know much about crime ... antennas are on lonely hilltops ...

For less than $100 at WalMart today ... you too can bring down media ...

In a twisted way you have a point. There is no 'profit' in truthful facts. Bullshit sells, but dry facts are boring.

Mine isn't. :eusa_shifty:

Really? How do you broadcast when they have been driven up to the roof and the doors locked, preventing them from reaching the studios?

That's callled fascism.
What the left have been doing? I agree, 100%.

But hey, it seems that it is okay to silence people you disagree with in this day.

I think it's of critical importance to look at what news media IS selling us ... take the thirty minutes this evening and watch one of the major networks news program ... ignore the reporting and make a list of the products being advertised and note the length of these commercials ... add them up ...

NOW who do you think is driving the news cycles? ...

Next compare these results between Left and Right bias sources ...

See ... same folks driving both sides ...

Studios are typical in town ... where there's police ... whose job it is to arrest and throw in jail folks who prevent free access to private property ... as we've seen in Portland, your idea makes for great show but it doesn't change anything ... plus you'll need numbers ...

Remote hilltop ... no police ... one guy ...

Bottom line ... one funeral is a lot cheaper than 20 prison sentences ... like I said, you're woefully ignorant on the practical aspects of committing felonies ... as though you have absolutely no experience ...

Likely, the numbers can be had.

I thought you were in support of protesting? I think we need to protest them right out of the building, with minimal bruising of course.

I have to admit, the antenna thing was a stroke of brilliance.

The key question is, where are the microwave satellite dishes kept?

So you're giving yourself permission here? What a great plan.

No, I'm thinking that we should start a movement. After all, we see that there is no accountability for property damage and the taking of life anymore. So why not.

This raises a FAR more fundamental question:

WHY would you be selling products, any product, around the news in the first place?

And WHAT happens to the news you report when the incentive becomes how many eyeballs you can sell?

Aye, there's the rub.

Thought I already said that.

Maybe you should go start a movement. About that time of day, innit? :coffee:

Studios are the least vital part. A transmitter can be (and usually is) reached remotely by an STL (studio transmitter link),

Despite the TV channel's excuse about "computers going wild" that was a hijack of the STL by some entity who to this day 37 years later, is not known.

RD is correct in that everything comes from the transmitter -- no transmitter, no signal. What goes into it can be sent any number of ways. But of course transmitters aren't the "lonely tower on the hill" he fantasizes either. They're heavily secured and often accessed only by private, and gated, roads.

Cable TV of course isn't involved in any of this since they don't have transmitters.
