Should assistant suicide be allowed for old age ???

If a pet gets put to sleep, when can I expect my cat to wake up?
? never............it's terminal, as in end of life when your pet is dying or suffering just like people do, but with pets you decide when it's time, as a human YOU should decide when it's time, you should have 100% control over yourself

Quit moving the goal posts. A person who is brain dead can be allowed to die. It happens often.
no shit, family members can decide to pull the plug, that is a bit different than somebody that is not brain dead yet still suffering who asks to have their life cancelled by somebody because they can't physically do it themselves.
that is why it's called "assisted" suicide..........get it?

You do.

If they can relay a desire to die, they can do it themselves.

If they can relay a desire to die, they can do it themselves.
impossible............they are in an ICU dying, who are they going to relay their desire to die? their doctor, nurse? they have a code, they won't do it
so what are their options exactly? just wait it out and suffer?

they can't move but they are going to get up, go find a strong drug and inject themselves.........you realize how stupid and not practical that sounds?

If they can't relay it then you are arguing something completely different.

People are allowed to die every day.

so hospitals just let people die everyday huh?
not sure you understand this issue
nobody allows anybody to die if they can save them but if they are beyond help
that person should have 100% authority to say, don't revive me, let me go

get it?

They most certainly do. Those with cancer are able to determine to deny treatment for themselves even though doctors could extend their lives.

I had a friend with cancer (third time). Doctor prescribed him something for the pain. The doctor told him to not take too many or he would not wake up. He didn't wake up.

I am in favor of euthanasia, but only in situations where the individual has no reasonable chance for a meaningful life. Additionally, while I believe in allowing others to help with the suicide, the act which delivers the fatal blow (injection, shot, etc…) MUST BE initiated by the victim himself/herself.

There’s a big difference between living and being alive.
