I frankly don't see the difference. If you do the crime, you do the time (or get executed). i mean, it looks to me like 1 plus 1 which always equals the same sum, 2.

Murder someone, end up fried.

Yes .. a 14-year-old should be convicted like an adult when committing such a heinous crime. If a 14-year-old can make decisions to have their genitalia removed or have an abortion, they are already making adult decisions.

Don't ask me. If 17-year-olds can join the military and carry weapons and kill people .. why is there a discrepancy in age consent? In several states, you can't buy tobacco products or firearms until you're 21. Why isn't there an agreement?

I completely agree with this .. many laws and ordinances are reactionary in nature, addressing an outcome, as opposed to proactive measures to address an underlying problem.

I think you just accidentally insulted people w/ autism. Actually, autistic people (in my research of tht topic) are pretty bright and I just don't see them being dangerous. There are probably exceptions, though, bc there always are exceptions to rules

I wouldn’t hesitate to kill a rabid dog before it could maul or kill anybody.

But that’s not what we have here.

This is after the fact. It’s now about the assignment of blame and responsibility. And it’s about the degree of appropriate punishment for an offender who happens to be a minor. And a human being. A sick human being. But a human being all the same.

I did say those who have a severe enough case of autism and the reason why I said that is because I used to work with someone who had autism, but because of how well he took care of his condition, I never would've known that he had anything going on had he not said anything about his having it.
