According to the write up, the person was there earlier in the day ripping the place off only to come back again later which is when the workers then took action. I don't blame them.

me either shoplifter needs to be caught

Some owners get pissed at any employee who takes on a shoplifter. I kind of get that. They figure nothing they have is worth the life or health of one of their people. To that extent, I respect the owners.

That being said, there should be all manner of in-store cameras. And all shoplifting should be vigorously investigated and prosecuted (with some simple common sense leniency for starving folks stealing food, etc.).
