I tried to find an explanation for the inadequacy of the Ukrainian policy. For example, why the Bolsheviks who killed Ukrainians are bad for them, and Bandera who killed Ukrainians are good for them. Or, for example, why their Ukrainian culture is associated with the Moscow Hetmanate, and not with Poland, which was Ukraine before the division. Why does Ukraine love the leftists who destroyed and are destroying it?

Here is one version of such schizophrenia. Moscow brought a lot of Serbian colonists there. They made up 2 regions there: Novoserbia and Lugansk settlements. Currently in Ukraine, according to data on male DNA markers, from 30 to 40% of the Western Balkan I2 markers, and these are most likely just the descendants of these Serbian settlers.

At the same time, Serbia just gravitates towards the left forces and has imperialist ambitions (Serbian nationalism could be observed in the riots on the eve of the 1st war and during the Yugoslav events of the 90s)

Therefore, in theory, this schizophrenia can be explained by the cunning behind-the-scenes game of the Serbian elites, who have leverage in Ukrainian politics.

In fact, the Ukrainians believe that the Hetmanate was Ukraine, it is the same for them. There was Bohdan Khmelnitsky, who raised an uprising against the Poles and handed over the Hetmanate to Moscow.
But in fact, the Hetmanate is not the same as Ukraine.

What is the purpose of this pseudo-historical nonsense being hammered into Ukrainians?

The troops of the hetmanate acted together with the Ottomans, they advanced on Europe and were stopped in the battle of Vienna by the Polish hussars.

This is still considered the day of the salvation of Europe from the Ottoman invasion.

The flag of the Hetmanate contains Islamic symbols, and the pseudo-Cossacks of the Hetmanate were dressed and equipped in exactly the same way as the Ottoman infantry, and they had no cavalry.

It is these people that Ukrainians call "Ukrainian Cossacks." These people have nothing to do with either native Ukrainians or Cossacks, and this is quite obvious.
Ukrainians are simply brazenly deceived
But the Serbs may have something to do with this, since their settlements in Novoserbia were just in the south of the Hetmanate.

Hussars against the Ottoman "Cossacks". Note the Islamic symbolism on the flag.

Ukrainians massively consider these musketeers "their Cossacks." The Cossacks called these people Khokhols, the Ukrainians apparently called them Serdyuks(this may be variant of Seldjuks).

"Free" Ukraine has the most severe political censorship. They block foreigners on their resources by IP. They use their freedom exclusively to trade in children and resources. Thanks to american leftists Obama&co.
