At the Senate luncheon today, Trump was upset that 4 Republican Senators voted with the Democratic Senators on Tuesday to block Trump from ordering more air strikes on Iran.
Bill Cassidy was one of those 4 Republican Senators that voted with the Democrats. Both Cassidy (R-LA) and John Cornyn (R-TX) lost their Republican primaries recently, after Trump stupidly backed their Republican opponents.
Trump has been a total disaster in his 2nd term with dismal approval ratings....and some Republican Senators like Cassidy are finally growing a backbone. From the Washington Post --

At one point in the lunch, Trump asked why any Republican would support a war powers resolution to block him from striking Iran. Cassidy, who was among the Republicans who supported it, told Trump that he had not been forthcoming about the war.
“It was supposed to last four weeks,” Cassidy said he told Trump. “It’s lasted four months. Our original objectives have not been achieved. And I want to know what’s going on.”
Trump raised his voice in response and the two men got into a shouting match, Cassidy said. Other Senate Republicans urged Cassidy to let it go.
“I lost my temper,” Cassidy told reporters after the lunch. “That’s inappropriate. It’s the Irish in me — but I, again, matched his tone and volume.”
Cornyn has lamented what he described as the recent feuding between Trump and Senate Republicans. He said before the lunch that he would like to ask Trump if he wanted to win the midterms, but senators said there was little opportunity to ask questions.
Tensions between Trump and Senate Republicans have been building for weeks. Trump infuriated many of them last month by reaching an agreement with the Justice Department to create a $1.8 billion fund to compensate people, including Trump’s political allies, who claim they were wrongly prosecuted during the Biden administration. Some Republican senators said they feared it could reward people convicted in the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol.
The administration eventually backed down, but Trump has created more headaches for his party.
