You ever wonder why or how in this day and age some people still don't get it. They actually think climate change cause by global warming is a hoax or elaborate conspiracy….

I'll tell you how… MONEY!

Secretive donors gave climate denial groups $125 million over three years

Failed scientists who couldn't get published will gladly make a living off writing op-eds and going on TV.

The secretive funders behind America’s conservative movement directed around $125m (£82m) over three years to groups spreading disinformation about climate science and committed to wrecking Barack Obama’s climate change plan, according to an analysis of tax records.

The amount is close to half of the anonymous funding disbursed to rightwing groups, underlining the importance of the climate issue to US conservatives.

That's chump change compared to the millions of dollars funding the anti fossil fuel/climate change crowd.

Hell's bells Steyer paid out over 80 million to attempt to elect pro carbon tax candidates in the mid terms.

And 125 M compared to groups like the Tides foundation paying "rent an Indian Chief" up here in Canada and all the sub groups that spin off of Tides is nothing in comparison.

Interfering with another country's energy sector. That's what these bastards do.

"The Tar Sands Campaign was launched in 2008 by the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, the Tides Foundation (“Tides”) and other U.S. foundations with the objective of branding Alberta oil as the poster child of “dirty fuel.”"

Many bands in our First Nations are paid off. Hell's bells, Niel Young even had Tides pay for a "rent a chief" at one of his anti pipeline concerts.

 Ooooooooooooooh so grass roots. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.

"Since 2008, Tides has paid at least $28 million to 75 Canadian First Nations and environmental groups involved in the Tar Sands Campaign.

Coast to coast to coast, the major organizations that are part of the anti-pipeline campaign are funded by Tides, including the Council of Canadians, the Tseiul-Waututh, the Wet’suwet’en, Art Sterritt’s Great Bear Initiative, the Pembina Institute, Equiterre, the Sierra Club, Forest Ethics, Lead Now, Idle No More, the Western Canada Wilderness Committee, and SumOfUs.

The Tar Sands Campaign’s original strategy paper, written back in 2008 by Michael Marx, says that this campaign aims to embarrass Canada, weaken the Alberta government and “reduce the attractiveness of the Alberta oil industry for the companies themselves, investors and financiers.”

Just a tip of the iceberg.

Vivian Krause SumOfUs is the same old tar sands campaigner Financial Post

Hazl, brilliant! You're a genius! All the money came from the Duggars too!

So that's why reality refuses to validate the AGWCult models. It was either that or...

Booooooooooosh

Regardless who paid who what,
there are people who do not need to believe in global warming to understand
that pollutants and excess byproducts are not good for environmental or human health PERIOD.

hazlnut this is like blaming the rejection of religion on the money being exchanged and made off it.
Even without that monetary factor and greed, people STILL have issues with religions and questions not answered.

You can't just blame the money.

And no, believing in Global Warming is not necessary to solve the problems.
You can look at all the same science and believe in the importance of stopping the excess release and buildup,
WITHOUT having to believe in Global Warming.

The Tar Sands operations are possibly the most damaging of the present fossil fuel extraction strategies. The First Nations can see this on their own, they don't need someone to tell them that. I would like to see all those operations totally shut down forever.
