Rep, Victoria Spartz (R-IN) on Monday signaled that she's not on board with President-elect Donald Trump's decision to back Mike Johnson's bid for the speakership.

Shortly after renegade Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) put out a statement defying Trump's call to make Johnson speaker, Spartz sent out a message on X that also poured cold water on the idea.

"I understand why President Trump is endorsing Speaker Johnson as he did Speaker Ryan, which is definitely important. However, we still need to get assurances that Speaker Johnson won’t sell us out to the swamp," she wrote while also posting a link to an article that highlighted Trump's past endorsements of former House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI) and the late Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) to highlight the risk of pushing forward with Johnson.

Johnson is unpopular for a reason. Trump seems more willing to fold this term, he never would have folded in his First Term.

"but trump learned the last time. He wont pick the swamp"

He's getting weaker and older.
Naw, he's listening to fear mongerers to tell him "they won't be able to swore you in, you must support Johnson! You're stuck sir! Just another couple of trillion in debt and then DOGE can go to work, ok?"

Another speaker will have the same problem as Moses Johnson. A very slim margin in the House and division in the GOP.

Johnson will remain Speaker of the House, despite all the bickering in Congress.

At this point I seriously doubt anyone can control Chaos Caucus, much less have the votes to do so. The margin so slim and the clash of egos will the House in permanent state WTF. The House has turned into a ReNaziKlan Cesspool.

The only one more MAGA than Johnson now is MTG and boy that should be fun.

Don't care. They have to govern now. They have to deliver.

And so politics are politics, you pointed that out succinctly. Your point is what?
