Scott Walker: I Took On Unions, I Can Take On ISIS

but this is OK with you because you are essentially a "kiss up" to wealth and power...The abuses are not in labor but in management ...many or most of the early retirees are in Police and Fire Unions ...

Here is something "seriously fucked up"
Paying for Failure: The Costs of Firing America's Top CEOs ...

For example, when executives at Hewlett-Packard, Bank of New York Mellon, Burger King and Yahoo were asked to step down this year, they walked away with severance packages that cost shareholders a combined $60 million. For instance, when Léo Apotheker stepped down as CEO at Hewlett-Packard, he walked away with $13.2 million in cash and stock severance.

Guy, I've been one of the loudest voices here about obscene CEO Compensations. Quite trying to change the subject.

It's absolutely insane that a union worker can retire in his 50's on a pension that the tax payers are paying for. Especially when many of them are more than capable of continuing to work (which a lot of them do.)

Now, if you accept that government is necessary for a civilized society, there is still an obligation to make sure the cost of that government is not onerous to the governed.

Last year, working two part time jobs and a full time job, I paid 25% of my income to property, state and federal taxes. That's not even counting sales taxes, fees, licenses, and so on. Probably spent closer to 30% if you factor those in.

Paying that for roads and defense and yes, even helping the elderly and poor, I have no problem with.

Paying it to someone perfectly capable of working because a union was able to intimidate government officials. Seriously, this is why guys like Walker and Snyder and Rauner are winning in blue states.
You do not mind the revolving door between Pentagon Generals and Armament makers ....if you worry about paying taxes I would worry about that scandal....these big fat Generals retire with fat military pensions then join the Boards of Armament makers to sell 'stuff" to their buddies still in the Military...its called "The System"

Well, if they were fat, they wouldn't be generals because they couldn't pass the weight requirements... It's why most officers you see actually look pretty trim. But you are changing the subject again, aren't you?

Obviously, not everyone gets to retire from the military. MOst people only do their 2 or four years. A lot of us try to make a career out of it, but don't. (I got out after 11 years) The vast majority of those who do retire are not "Fat generals" but Sergeants and Master Chiefs and Warrant officers. And they aren't getting the fat Armament job, they are getting stuck teaching ROTC at some High School.

But if you really want to talk about getting rid of retirement as a benefit of military service, I'm game for that. As long as you realize that you will probably not see as many folks make it a career.

Now back to the subject. Do you really think the rest of us should subsidize someone retiring at 50? Given the average lifespan is 78, we could end up paying him more retired years than working years.

You blame unions for America corporations moving factories to places where they pay the labor a dollar an hour.

That's the union's fault? What should union workers do? Offer to work for 99 cents an hour?

Nope- We fire you then find someone else willing to work for pay offered

-Geaux

Right. They find 1.00 an hour workers that no American can compete with, union or not. Why that makes you happy can only be explained by the well known fact that you're an imbecile.

If a man is hungry, he'll work for whatever his sweat warrants. If he gets subsidies, he can afford to be 'picky' about the work performed

-Geaux

Amazing. You WANT dollar an hour labor to come to the U.S. How will that make your life better?

I never said I wanted $1/hr labor... you did.

-Geaux

If you support free global trade then you do support $1/hr labor.

Does ISIS support/allow unionized labor in the Islamic State they've created? Is that what Walker wants to go after?

lol

So what I do not give a rap about Generals...no its not changing the subject because you are "concerned with your taxes" going to unworthy people.....you are really concerned about "Grinding a Neocon Axe on the Unions" while ignoring all the rip offs by people you feel are OK to be doing rip offs ...

Its awful millions and millions of workers retiring at the age of fifty...in what planet wasthis though ? .....what a freak LOL

By the way you do not get to frame the issue your neocon way ...you do not set the agenda...I know a white man like you is accustomed to obedience...

States are not going bankrupt because of CEO's or Generals.

They are going bankrupt because they are paying for a unionized work force that makes twice what the civilian workforce makes and retires much earlier.

And what you are saying is, "Suck it, you are going to keep paying us because we can dump millions into elections!"

And then you act all surprised when folks in BLUE states elect Scott Walker or Bruce Rauner or Kasich or Snyder.

How's this for a whacky idea. State workers make exactly what I make. They have to work until they are too old to work anymore, just like I do. And if they totally fuck up, they get fired without having to get an act of God to get them out.

That sounds.... actually kind of reasonable.

Curiouser and curiouser...no worries or concerns about the wealthy mostly white CEO abuses but boy those nasty Union workers ....each and every one of them retired at fifty with a huge pension[in what planet please].

Hey white dude maybe this is why you are feeling ripped off..

No one makes me do business with those companies. If I am truly offended by a CEO compensation package, I always have the option of not buying that company's products.

I don't have that option with the state. I can't not pay my taxes. What I can do is vote for guys who say, "Yes, we will do what we can to make sure that you aren't getting hosed come tax time."

Guess what buddy, the guy saying "Yes, we will do what we can to make sure that you aren't getting hosed come tax time."....that same guy is making sure his Buddies are getting your tax cash...they create privatization schemes so that now your tax money is going to a tiny small group of people and you are still screwed ...or yu think Scott Walker is worried about you....Scott Walker is focused on one thing and one thing only as was shown by his "punked call" and that is "what can I do to curry favor with David Koch"...

Gee its curious you have no concern with Republicans whose no regulations mantra opened the door to the trillion dollar rip off on our economy...you are right better to worry about union teachers , nurses and maintenance workers

.

Can you show some documentation that supports this rather global statement "They are going bankrupt because they are paying for a unionized work force that makes twice what the civilian workforce makes and retires much earlier."

States have experienced tremendous fiscal stress over the last 7 - 8 years related to the Wall Street crimes that melted down the economy. YOU BLAME the UNIONs .. I focus on the greed of the Big Dogs not the crumbs going to the Unions which represent under 10 percent of workers

I worry about those things all the time and have spoken against them far better than you have.

(It helps to not sound like a crazy person.)

I don't think any of these politicians are "worried about me". I don't think Obama is. I don't think HIllary is. I don't think Walker is.

The reason why I'm considering voting for Walker is because - the GUY GETS STUFF DONE!

I voted for Obama, but I would have a hard time arguing he is a guy who gets stuff done.

Guy, now you are going into hysterics. You really are.

The thing is, you can't seem to defend the perks that State workers get without comparing them to something else. How about just defending them on their own merits?

The purpose of the propaganda you have bought into is to make you think that people like me sound crazy....

You do not have to do business with Walmart BUT YOU must subsidize with food stamp and other assistance the Walmart work force so the Walton family can gather more billions...your tax money goes in the profits go up..how does that happen...nobody knows

Joe, did you watch the interview of Walker on FOX yesterday?

This guy will change his position on ANYTHING. His change on immigration was amazing. . Chris Wallace tied him up in knots. Had Walker talking about all the praying and pleading with God to tell him if he should run fro Pres or not.

Sounded like a crazy Mormon or something. But he's a Baptist. Watch that interview if you can and then see if you still think you might vote for him.

No way for me and I can't figure out why he was elected in the first place.

Saw Walker on Fox yesterday. Kept thinking of age-related jokes of like "Is he old enough to drive at night?" :) "He can't be President, ya have to be at least 35." :) "There are Congressional Pages that look older than him."

You can't seem to focus on what you feel are abuses of your tax money except to focus on workers and Unions ...all else is A OK...in Florida where I live we have Rick Scott one of your anti Union heroes ...problem is he looted the Medicare program [made $300 million] but he is hell on workers LOL so you would support him...

Governor Rick Scott went after the Correctional worker Union..slashed budgets ...he privatized ....end result State being sued investigated...people being boiled alive in prison...murders ..corruption ...

Amazing interview. Amazing in the Wallace really did a good job. Walker exposed himself for the light weight he truly is. Flip flops and turnarounds with lots of praying as to what to do.

I could imagine him in the WH, praying as to whether or not to nuke Russia or something.
NO thanks.
