Scott Walker: I Took On Unions, I Can Take On ISIS

NATIONAL HARBOR, Md. -- Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker (R) on Thursday said his experience undermining labor unions in Wisconsin has prepared him to take on the threat of the Islamic State in the Middle East.

"If I can take on 100,000 protesters, I can do the same across the world," Walker told a packed crowd at the Conservative Political Action Committee, in response to a question about how he would fight the terrorist group, which has killed thousands in Iraq and Syria.

Walker was referring to protesters who led an unsuccessful recall effort against him in 2012, after he proposed a budget that stripped public sector unions of their collective bargaining rights. The protests lasted for months and catapulted Walker onto the national political stage.

Scott Walker Says He Can Take On ISIS Because He Took On Labor Unions

I would love to see union-buster Walker taking on ISIS - but not as president.

Teachers aren't isis. It's disgusting to see anyone say that teachers are the same as isis.

Teachers don't invade a nation, kill all those who aren't the same religion as the teachers and sell people to other muslims.

walker is disgusting. He has no respect for America or our people.

walker should go back to Wisconsin and take care of the mess he's created in his state.

By the way, where are those 250 thousand jobs he promised to create in 2010?

Link to examples of such workers ...where are they who told you this ??? WTF are you talking about ? you are repeating talking points are you aware of that ?

Do you really want to put me into the position of showing how unions have gone too far? Here's one of my favorite examples. Teacher gets caught molesting kids, and gets paid for years to do no work.

The 4 NYC teachers banned from classrooms who rake in millions New York Post

Three of the city’s longest-running “rubber room” teachers have raked in more than $1 million each for a decade of not working in classrooms, and a fourth is paid a top salary — $100,049 a year — not to teach.

The Foul Four — who beat sexual-misconduct charges — can’t be fired by the Department of Education because they are entitled to job protections under state tenure laws, which require “due process.” Educators are entitled to a trial with an independent hearing officer who decides whether any misconduct warrants termination.

Meanwhile, the four have gotten automatic longevity raises and stand to get further raises — and back pay — under the $9 billion United Federation of Teachers union contract ratified last month.

Wow. That's seriously fucked up. But there's more.

I would love to see the current President taking on ISIS but that's not likely to happen either.

The president is taking on isis. There have been around 2500 bombings by American forces thus far.

Obama tried to the congress to formally declare war on isis but the republican congress said NO very quickly.

So if you want a formal war on isis talk tot he gop in congress. They're the ones who declare war and authorize the funds to wage that war.

Right, you're a millionaire who thinks earning 100K is an unbelievable amount of money who thinks you need government to hand you money and keep your employer from shit canning you. I am poor and live in a trailer and I don't want government handouts. I'm trying to be offended, but I'm just not feeling it. I'll keep working on that.

Well, DoubleWide, you are certainly proving my point about your poor reading comprehension skills.

Free markets are the best protection for workers. Your employer sucks, you fire them. Now have a donut, doublewide, you read a whole post since the last one

Free Markets are the best protection for the rich. It actually kind of sucks for working folks.

Strong unions and strong workers rights are the best protection for workers.

I disagree with you...there is no Patriotism of any kind in the Tea Party or GOP

I think most Tea Party members love their country. I think they happen to be misguided as to what the causes of the problems are.

You see, I've said this before, Occupy Wall Street and the TEA Party are actually angry about the same thing, the incestuous marriage between big business and big government at the expense of the average working person.

The thing is, neither party really changes anything. The reason why Scott Walker will probably win the Presidency is that he seems like a guy who might do something to get things done. After 8 years of Obama, those college kids who supported him in 2008 are now the underemployed wage slaves of 2016 who've moved back in with their parents.

But buck up, the greater probablity is that the GOP will nominate Jeb Bush, and Hillary will have the "Clinton vs. Bush" narrative she needs to win.

Joe I think he'll just froze over. I agree with you, I think most Americans, left and right want what is best for America, it's just a different opinion on how to get there.

I do agree there is an incestuous relationship between big business and both parties, it is up to the politicians to end it.

It's a good thing for Hillary that those who supposedly are "tired" of these government workers aren't going to be in many of the battlegound states. I supposed you're talking about public employee pensioners. A lot of people in Ohio like their pensions (union types).None of them are going to vote for Walker who is already pre-labeled as being anti-union. You can add Pennsylvania and Michigan to that. Then there is Virginia where there are lot of government employees who are counting on their pensions to be there in their retirement. Florida? he he he...much of the state is made up of those pensioners.

Except for PA, All of those states currently have Republican governors who ran on getting the union thugs under control, as is Wisconsin. Shit, Illinois we just elected a governor who promised to take on the Unions. He'll probably fail because the legislature won't have his back. But I think it shows how sick people are of these folks.

Walker could gain some ground in the West with CO, NM, NV, and possibly IA. Lets give him WI as well. That is what...30 electoral votes? The GOP needs 64 to flip. If you add Florida, he makes it but Bill is huge in Florida and Hillary got 300,000 more votes than Obama did in that primary; as strange as it was (they barely campaigned there).

Actually, Walker has a good chance of flipping VA, WI, MI, OH, CO, NV and NM.

The biggest problem you guys have is that Hillary is such an awful candidate. She was awful in 2008. She hasn't gotten any better. She's shrill and she has a bad habit of saying far stupider things than Walker does. "We were fat broke when we left the white house' and "I was under fire in Bosnia".

PH2008032002697.jpg

"Cover me, Chelsea!"

Union households only make up 11% of the electorate, and of those, 40% still vote Republican.

" Danny" pissed off "Ronnie" and since you are a Right wing nut your reaction is servile ...you have a link to a source about Ortega selling out ...anything or am I suppose to be in such awe of your OPINIONS that its the end of any argument?

I think if you are going to try to pretend that during his first term, Ortega wasn't totally in bed with the Russians and Cuban (until the money ran out, anyway) there's really no point in arguing with you.

Corbis-42-22245744.jpg

"What is thy bidding, my Master?"

Public employee unions are the Democratic party cash cow, that's how they fund their campaigns. Dem politicians raise taxes, give the money to the unions, the unions kick back part of the money to the Dem politicians. Sounds like a RICO organized crime case to me.

Sooo, you're saying that if union dues favored Conservatives - this union-busting shit wouldn't be happening? I agree! The reason union dues favor Democrats is because Democrats do much more to support labor - while Conservatives are on a Jihad to bust unions and reduce wages.

Unions are worse than ISIS; ISIS is Muslim, Unions are Communist

Unions are filled with scum, pure scum.

Obama is not taking on ISIS. If he were ISIS would be a memory. Obama is doing the least he can to offend his Muslim friends.

The President is doing the minimum to deal with ISIS so he won't piss off his far left base and he has not been effective given ISIS still has most if not all of their gains. I will remind his own party opposed a declaration of war on ISIS not just the GOP funny how when it comes to something that might be unpopular you want him to go through Congress instead of using his phone and pen.

You mean like in Michigan, the workers paradise? A workers paradise with no jobs. No wonder the employees in Southern States are smart enough to keep voting them out.

At some point rather than blaming greedy capitalists, you should own up to that you're a lousy employee with a bad attitude, that's why they keep firing you

Unions and management are working well in Germany. Volkswagen is a good example.

Germany thrives on unions, socialized medicine, high taxes.

Wow, a liberal blog thinks unions are good, what an earth shattering revelation
